Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWe couldnt have been happier. We booked for two nights. Our son-in-law stayed the first night as he had an early flight and we checked in the following morning. We only stayed for the day as we had a late flight. We wanted to drop our luggage, explore the old city and shower before leaving for the airport. Katerina had the room cleaned and ready for us at 9am. We were greeted by the owner with refreshments. Katerina provided us with a map and recommended local attractions to vist and provided a brief history of the area. She also recommended some local restaurants and organised transport to the airport, including a buggy to transport our luggage to the taxi pickup point. The hotel is located within easy walking distance from the ferry. However, the pebbled roads are not kind to your wheely suitcases. During the booking process, Katerina replied almost immediately. It was a joy to deal with her. I would highly recommend this quaint boutique hotel.

AustraliaThe hotel is absolutely gorgeous, it is beautifully renovated and designed by lady Katerina. If you’re not staying in this hotel I think you should go and have a look as one the attractions when you’re in the old town! Lady Katerina was a very gracious host, she made us feel like home and very welcomed, she gave us amazing recommendations from where to visit to where to eat and organized rental car and transport. she and her husband made us beautiful breakfasts which had homemade jams and homemade olives! the location is amazing and so easy to walk to anywhere and do all the touristy things and at the same time if you want to scape from the crazy tourist crowds, the hotel location and some lovely tavernas close to it, is well protected from tourists. we would definitely chose this hotel again!

United StatesEverything was amazing - could not think of a single thing they need to change.
Porolithos is truly a gem of a boutique hotel. Katerina and her husband were so kind and helpful in every way. The breakfasts they prepared for us were outstanding with lots of local products and delicious goodies! They even customized our morning coffees to our preference (cappuccino freddo) - their attention to your preferences is unmatched! They gave us a list of recommended restaurants, sights, and shops and every one we visited was amazing! Marco Polo and Paneri were our favorite restaurants during our whole trip to Europe and they were both recommended by Katerina and her husband. Their taste will never lead you astray, they are so thoughtful when curating your visit. Katerina was also very helpful when we decided to rent a car to see Lindos for a day - she communicated with the company and got us rates while we were seeing the sights of Old Town. The Tholos room is lovely: everything is decorated with beautiful antiques and the stone walls are so cool. My husband loved the peaceful environment and the little patio outside the door. The shower is amazing and the water pressure is great and the shampoo and toiletries provided were the nicest ones during our trip to Europe. The room was so comfortable and cleaned daily. The mattress is great, especially after a long day of sight-seeing and beach-going. We highly recommend visiting Rhodes just to experience this great place (and take all their recommendations, they know what they’re talking about!). When leaving they were again so helpful: they booked us a taxi and helped us with our bags the next morning and even packed us a breakfast to-go which was so sweet. We highly recommend this lovely hotel tucked away in the streets of Old Town Rhodes!

United KingdomThere were no negatives
This Hotel has been restored with love and in sympathy with the original building. This is a family run hotel and everything reflects their devotion. The breakfast was exceptional and so was the individual service. We were made to feel very welcome and special. There were also some individual restaurants and bars very close avoiding the main squares.

This one-of-a-kind hotel is tucked away in a narrow cobblestone street and is the product of two years of painstaking custom renovation. The rooms and decor is visually stunning and a joy to behold. The location is walking distance to all the sights and numerous fantastic restaurants. Katarina is an amazing host with excellent local restaurant recommendations and tourist tips. The breakfasts served in the courtyard are substaintial and varied in traditional greek style.

NetherlandsThe best boutique hotel we’ve ever been privileged enough to stay at. Great property with very close access to all the restaurants and shops in the Old Town, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. The attention to detail is impressive. From their warm welcome with a cold drink and treat, to the delicious breakfasts, all are done with great care by Katerina and her husband. They take pride in their small hotel and it shows! The rooms are spacious and the bed is comfortable. We were there for one week and we’re sad to leave. We cannot recommend the Porolithos Boutique Hotel enough.

We loved everything about this beautiful Boutique hotel. Firstly, the two hosts were extremely friendly, welcoming and very helpful in assisting us to plan our time on Rhodes island, this was especially appreciated considering it was off season when there was very few businesses open. The hotel itself is stunning, they have done a fantastic job of rennovating and we loved our room, it made the whole experience of staying in the old town even more immersive and magical.
