Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicEverything was perfect, just maybe the time flew too fast :(
I cant say enough how much I have LOVED my stay. The island is just precious, the accommodation is on perfect location with beautiful view and access to the sea (also sunbeds are available). The place is super clean, modern, amazingly equipped for literally everything. The bed is super comfy. If you wake up early enough you can observe sunrise from your bed with a stunning view on the bay. Linda is exceptionally nice as the host, she was also so nice to send me a little guide to get me smoothly from the port to the place. I will definitely come back.

The location of the studio was brilliant with it's private steps directly to the sea. It was also close to the bars and restaurants in Halki. Linda and Vilson communicated with us prior to and during our stay.

AustraliaThe apartment is looked after by a Property Manager. Upon making our booking we were sent an email asking for the time of our ferry arrival because someone would meet us at the port to show us to the accomodation. This is common practice in Greece, especially on small islands. On arrival the Manager took our two small hand luggage pieces & beach umbrella, put them on his scooter and advised us he would take the luggage & directed us how to walk to the accomodation. The distance via scooter is about 2 minutes as the accomodation is located at the port, but is through a labyrinth of narrow alleyways & many stairs. Upon checkout we assumed that we would have someone assist us again, so we asked the Manager to help us to our next accomodation which was located next to the port where we were picked up. He arrived 30 minutes later, but before taking our luggage began to demand that we pay him to take the luggage and advised us that it’s not his job to take luggage to and from the port and that we should also have paid him for the original pick up from the port! If the case was that pickup/drop off was a paid service, then this would be in the booking.com profile (it is not) or this cost would be communicated to you via the initial host message (it was not) and most importantly, you would be issued with a receipt as per GREEK LAW. Also, the drains in the shower were blocked on arrival. We messaged the host immediately to advise. We were told that the Manager would come the next morning to check them, which of course he never did. So we spent 3 days having to turn the shower off every 5 seconds otherwise the dirty water would come up from the drain and flood the bathroom.
Good location close by to the port. Wonderful view, shared swim access directly out front. Recently renovated and very functional amenities.

AntarcticaThere is no external space (balcony, patio, etc) for the studio despite what the photos suggest. The small size and position of the windows do not allow the (nice) view to be enjoyed. Access via steep stairs. Maybe unsuitable for small children, elderly or persons with mobility issues. Noise from the veranda/flat above.
Newly furbished. Clean.

United KingdomDo not advertise there is an area for sunbeds, which was shown on booking.com. It was a municipal area for anyone who wanted to swim and not a sunbathing area., with 27 steps to walk down. Very disappointed with that, because on Halki a balcony is so important and of course there wasn't one. The host was an Albanian who did not speak any English.
Lovely studio and view
