Nothing - we had a perfect holiday.

We loved our stay at Porto Platanias. The staff were wonderful especially George the evening barman. The location was perfect for us - close to the beach and a couple of beachside restaurants where we enjoyed some lovely lunches.

No power sockets in the room, we had to unplug one of light to be able to charge one phone! The pools are not deep, you basically can’t swim. People woke up early in the morning to put towels on the sunbeds, if you wake up at 09:00 you’re always late to get a sunbed.

The location was good close to everything we needed. We had a nice room with view over the sea.

The food was not that great and we were at the end of the season so maybe they were just “cleaning out the freezer” but I wished we had fresher better food options and more kid options. Breakfast was pretty good and we did 1/2 board. The pools were freezing cold but at least the little kids area pool seemed to be heated and was warm. The spa was not very nice, it was older and run down, not that clean and the pool was Cold !! I was very disappointed in the spa.

The location was great and private beach access was amazing. The staff was nice and we had an issue with our room and they were able to change us back to the original room we booked the next morning. The kids club staff was also very nice and my kids enjoyed their time.

The only thing that is very annoying is that at 7 am all the sun beds near the pools are taken. Clients put their towels on the sun beds and often they come in the afternoon although there are signs stating that left alone towels will be removed by the staff.. When I contacted the pools staff no action was taken as it is a normally done and no one takes action.

Breakfast was excellent large variety of food. The location is perfect many bars and restaurants nearby walking distance. Staff very helpful. Air-condition was excellent and the sea view from our room was great. Room was adequate with a small kitchenette.

The gym material is not in good condition, a bit too old and some is not working. So it was a bit disappointing for me because one of the reasons I chose this hotel was because of the gym.

We got a free upgrade for the room with a Private swimming pool. The room is nice and clean. The hotel is big and right on the beach. The staff is friendly. The spa is so also nice and super relaxing. The location is great.

Loungers had towels holding them at every pool by 7.30am inspite of signs everywhere asking guests not to or they'd be removed.

GUEST SERVICES WAS Amazing. Both ladies Anna and another ladies whose name I can't recall (brown hair) we spectacular. So well informed and helpful. They upgraded our room at no cost to keep us all together. Nice touch.

The town of Platanias is very touristy and the beaches are not as nice as those in other parts of the island. This should be taken into account depending on the stay one wishes to make.

The resort is equipped with all the necessary facilities to make your holiday perfect and relaxing. The staff is kindly and always helpful. The location is strategic for reaching many parts of the island and the resort has an agreement with guided tours.

There was a broad range of breakfast options and the staff were great. However, the meats served were cheap and processed, and the overall quality of the breakfast fell well short of a “5 star” experience and was a bit disappointing. We took only B&B so can’t comment on the all inclusive food and drink, but the quality of the breakfast made us happy we didn’t take the all inclusive option. Despite the sea view our room overlooked a car park that was used (and somewhat noisy) well into the evening. There was a locked door through to the next room which led to more noise from our neighbours.

Very large room, well equipped and cleaned scrupulously daily. This was really helpful and much appreciated as we traveled with a small child. The room came with a sea view and was very close to the beach where we enjoyed the hotel’s complementary sun loungers most days. The staff were kind, friendly and attentive throughout the hotel. We appreciated that the hotel had everything we needed even if we didn’t make use of all of it - several pools (some family oriented, at least one adults only), games, a spa and a gym. There’s also a kids club and childcare. Hotel well located within Platanias, which are has a long beach, many very good tavernas and family restaurants. Getting to Chania is easy by bus and Platanias is within reach of multiple other attractions on Crete.

Great place. Very crowded. Multiple pools were all overflowing. Needed to rush to save seats if you wanted any space.

It was very large variety at the breakfast buffet but with relativ medium quality. Then the beach that was in front of hotel was very medium if you compete with other beaches at the same region. The hotel was full med people from Scandinavia and you didn’t have the feeling that you are in Greece.

It was very clear,comfortable very close to platanias village and to Chania town
