Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandHaving the place clean you get a bit of leach smell around the grounds, but if you not sensitive to smells, it won't be a problem .
Location is simply amazing, infinity pool is fantastic. Haven't used other pools, plenty of options for families with kids.

SloveniaThis is a three star hotel at its best. The central part was not renovated in years, there is an old swimming pool next to the reception, the old reception hall. Rooms are renovated but in the basic style, good AC, there is also one new pool next to the sea side. Great variety of food and drinks but of a basic quality (don't expect some great wines or similar in the all inclusive option). Congratulations to the photographer who managed to capture the best of this hotel in the online photos. I couldn't recognise the hotel when we arrived. Only later we saw the good parts (new pool next to the sea, new rooms, new restaurant). Luckily the friendliness of staff compensates for the bad overall quality of the setting.
The hotel is right next to the beach. The staff is super friendly. Great offer of food. One nice facility for small kids (it looks like a pool but it's some sort of a sprinkling system with dragons and stuff).

CroatiaResort is a little bit dislocated from the city, but with a rented car we had no trouble going sightseeing. The building where the restaurant and reception are located needs renovation and then the whole resort would be perfect.
Meals were ok in accordance with expectations, rooms were comfortable and clean. The whole resort is very nice, near the beach, has two pools. We stayed with two kids and the resort is focused on families. Surroundings is nicely kept, with nice green grass although no rain at all. Bungalows seem very nice.

IrelandThe location isn’t good. You are completely stranded there is nothing to do around the hotel, If you want to go to a shop bar or restaurant it is 30 euro in a taxi to Kos town. The food is okay but there isn’t a lot of choice, they have one island of main meals , one island for salads and one island for dessert, they have a chef on site cooking a particular meat that changes every day but that is it, there is set meal times even though you are all inclusive if you miss breakfast you can’t eat anything till 12:30. Snacks are not included in the all inclusive. I am also gluten intolerant which left me eating salads and chips most days as they do not cater for anyone with food allergies. My boyfriend has no allergies and isn’t a fussy eater but he was also disappointed due to the lack of choice. I found the main restaurant too small for the amount of people, If they had one more restaurant that offered different meals it would be much better. The rooms are infested with midges so I came home covered in bites, there is no pharmacy near the hotel so I had to pay 60 euro return to Kos town by taxi to get something for my bites. However there is a shop onsite which was handy for suncream and other essentials. The all inclusive drinks are not good. I paid for premium cocktails most days which is not what you want to do when going all inclusive. They also serve them in paper cups which are really annoying to drink from but I understand it’s more sustainable. The entertainment team did the same thing every day which gets very repetitive. One of the pools is very rundown in my opinion. You couldn’t leave your drink down as it would be infested with ants, the Sun loungers are dated, we spent most of our time at the infinity pool which is beautiful but gets very crowded.
The hotel is spotless, fresh towels and bed made every day, they also leave water in the room which is nice. The staff are very nice and they work very hard they are the best thing about the hotel.

AustriaI did not like entertainment very much. There are not many choices. Two exceptions: the fire show and the live music (with two singers) night were really enjoyable.
I enjoyed my vacation very much. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help. I was in the bungalow, which I liked very much. The swimming pools are also very nice. In particular, I spent the majority of time in the infinity pool which is also good for small babies. The place is also easy to reach with a taxi in 10mins from the airport. The food was good...a lot of choices, maybe the quality of some dishes could be improved.

CroatiaThe bathroom in the room was not clean as I expected to be. And regarding the fact it is a family resort with lots of kids there is missing a regular playground area.
The location is great. Also, the staff is very nice. Food was very tasty and a lot of choice. The bongalow rooms great, with lots of space. Beach is close, 2 min walk from the room and also clean with sun beds. There are two pools, one near the beach and other more inside so it is never crowded.

RomaniaMold smell in the room. 5 TV channels only and those in German language. When accommodating multiple nationalities, more channels are recommended to be available, at least in English language. Junior suite where my son's family stayed was at the basement in front of the terrace toilet, beds not so comfy. Two sides door hanging tags "DO NOT DISTURB" and "PLEASE CLEAN MY ROOM NOW" are necessary, since cleaning staff was coming when we were sleeping.
In bungalow the king size bed, very comfortable, nice bathroom. Enough sunbeds on the beach.

United KingdomNo snack bar near the main pool (not a major problem just a slight inconvenience) if you want lunch you have to dry off and go into the main restaurant or walk down to the infinity pool which is a bit of a longer walk than I would have liked just to grab chips or similar. Would have liked a bit more entertainment/things to do during the day e.g. volley ball, football etc.
Lovely hotel and grounds. Friendly staff, food is good always a range of options and different themes for the buffet each night. Gorgeous views from the infinity pool and make sure to catch the sunset from the beach one night! Splash pool good for younger ones.

NetherlandsEarly May we stayed at this resort style hotel with three families. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The accommodations were completely to our satisfaction. The food offered was exceptional for an all-inclusive stay. The presentation, cleanliness and service was beyond expectations. To get around you need a car rental. Smy Kos has two pools and a beach; all very well equipped. The water was cold so we did not get in much. We really recommend this hotel offering great value for money.

BelgiumNot so much to comment. The only thing was the very cold northern wind in the beginning of May but the hotel can't do anything about that. The second thing that irritated me was 'no music in the restaurant'. Always nicer to have a special 'atmosphere' on your holiday. On the third day I mentioned this, they told me it was because of Covid, they could not play music and 2 days later, it was resolved and there was a little bit of background music, so I guess/assume they were still uprunning from 'after the covid period' which ended May 1st. May is windy so beware if you go to Kos in May. On the other hand, the hotel was not full during May which was peaceful ( no fighting for sunbeds e.g.), this might be the case during high season, I don't know.
I visited Smy Kos Beach and Splash in the beginning of May. After reading some bad comments, I was anxious to visit this hotel :-). The first drink that I got, was really as I read in some comments 'undrinkable' (the kind of all-in syrup drinks). But apparently, this was only that day, because the day after, it was better and I also tried some other drinks. The room was FANTASTIC! Very nice, new/renovated, modern, clean, I cannot give any bad comments at all! Everything you need is there. I slept so well as the bed was so comfortable! The room was cleaned every day by a lovely happy cleaning lady that swayed good morning (kalimera) every day. The food got better every day. Yes, in a way, it is what you can expect from an all-in, but some things were really good, the taste was good, a lot of things were cooked fresh and although you e.g. had some kind of mashed potatoes every day, it was every day a different one, so you cannot complain about 'always the same' at all! Again, very worth the price! There are 2 pools, an amazing beautiful infinity pool by the beach and another one with 'splash' zone for the kids. Yes, the water is/was freezing. The first days that I was there, the outside temperature was 21-22 degrees with a very strong cold northern wind (apparently typical for May so beware!), so swimming in the swimming pool was not an option, nor laying at the beautiful beach. The animation was lovely; they very much try to do their best! There was stretching, yoga, aquagym,... In the evenings there was mini disco for the kids every night, bingo, quizes and I was lucky enough to see 3 beautiful shows (Greek folklore night, acrobatics show and belly dancing), very nice. All of the staff was polite and friendly. For the price that I paid, this hotel was very worth it and I would come again! They really do their best and I'm sure the hotel is still "growing".

EstoniaThe walls are made of paper. We stayed at the bungalow and we felt that we were sharing the room with our neighbors as we were woken up by their kid crying at 4 am. When i went to ask the reception whether the walls are as thin in all the other rooms, the answer was yes. Not sure whether she got my question. So all in all it is so damn nice place but you have to have luck with the neighbors as you can hear them snoring, coughing, farting and using the toilet.
The place felt cosy and inviting. Really loved the staff, food and location. On top of that the beach pool area and bungalows look amazing.
