Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceNo privacy at all for a couple considering that the there is a semitransparent glass while being in the toilet !!!!! (for the "cave" appartment of 2). I am not recommending the specific room.

GreeceIt is exactly what we were looking for. No negatives.
We really enjoyed the view from our room, especially in the daylight. The room is equipped with a fireplace. The silence of the village in the night. The breakfast is quite rich; it is cooked on the spot and served at your table. There is also a lovely terrace that you relax and enjoy the view. Tip: ask the hotel owners for any events during your stay. Events are organized in the hotel and in the village, in general. We attended a stargazing event the night of our stay.

GreeceThe room we stayed at is a really cozy cave-like one. The room itself was ideal for long after-hiking naps. The option of a total black out effect by the solid blinds, gave us the opportunity to sleep for more than 9h on the totally comfortable bed. Apart from the room, the hospitality and the staff is amazing, with Angeliki being the best and the most caring hostess we've ever met. Take a pair of hiking/sport shows with you, because a generous amount of well signed trails await for you to explore them. We will definitely go back.

ItalyMinor stuff that would make this place amazing. In the rooms, extra items such as more toilet paper or tissues are needed. Some extra pillows for the bed would also be a good idea. The mini fridge and the cupboard have some basic items such as water, wine, chocolate etc. but these come with an additional, although not high, charge. There is a kettle, if you wish to have a cup of tea, but there are no spoons to stir the sugar. For the room price, I believe some free stuff would be more than welcome by the guests. As this village is somewhat secluded and there are only two options for food and drinks in the main square which is five minutes down the hill, and since the property comes with an amazing view, it would be great if there was an option to drink a coffee or have a glass of wine on the terrace later in the afternoon as well, but the kitchen is not open after breakfast (9-11.00 am). If you visit during summer, expect to find a lot of wasps which may turn your breakfast on the terrace into an adventure, even though the staff is using multiple natural solutions for this, but after the first attempt we decided to have our breakfast inside and the problem was solved. There is also the issue of bad soundproofing between the rooms, especially where the bathrooms are, but if you are lucky enough to have quiet neighbors this shouldn't be a problem. Not all rooms have a table and a chair on the balcony, as ours didn't, it would be great if we had a balcony for exclusive use, but this depends on the room type and availability.
This is a fully renovated traditional building, the interior design is amazing, wood and stone everywhere, amazing views from the terrace, quiet and with extremely helpful staff. The breakfast was good, with local touches any type of coffee you wish, and it was served at the terrace. The bed was quite comfortable and there was also a smart tv in the room.

GermanyThe rooms are rather small, a space for the kettle or even a kitchen-like space in the rooms is absent. The tea bag costs 1.5Euro in the room, something that is not acceptable for a 150Euro room per night. If you travel with a transporter, approach Vamvakou from the northern side, do not use the road from the south since this is a tight road....
The rooms are brand new, the staff comes uphill if something is not working (like in our case the heating system). Breakfast is tasty and the location is pretty cool - if you book here you want to be remote, and this is what you get. There is enough space also outside the rooms to hang around and play cards. The staff is warm and friendly, even invited us to come down to the main square to join them. Vamvakou is small, like, really small, and the people living there are among the friendliest we found during our trip.

GreeceAngeliki is an excellent, very warm and kind hostess. The place is brand new, with a unique and appropriate for the specific location architecture and decoration. The room, Tsevoula, is beautiful, but only suitable for two. What makes Rouga unique, is its people: nice, warm, friendly, and welcoming.

GreeceSoundproofing between the rooms was, well, leaky. Conversations from the adjacent room were easily discernible. For that price, I'd expect a coffee machine in the room.
Exceptional accommodation, part of a wider renovation project for the village. Wonderful design throughout, with a jaw-dropping view from a picture window. Very good breakfast. Staff extremely helpful. The paths in the region starting from the village were very well maintained and signposted (and we were visiting off-season).
