How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Our only complaint was the shower was very touchy, it got freezing then very hot super quickly.
The woman who greeted us at the front was so kind. She was so helpful with dinner recommendations, and always checked in on how we were doing. She made the stay from great to excellent!

I found the bathroom floor a little slippery as it got wet due to the shower), and the light switches were a bit confusing, but these are minor issues.
Great location and I loved being on the ground floor (with access to the courtyard). It is a spotlessly clean and very comfortable hotel, with a coffee machine & kettle, a hairdryer & steamer to freshen up clothes. Fluffy towels, robes, and nice slippers too!

Lovely little hotel in a peaceful location yet only 2 minutes from the harbour. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and very clean, the bed and pillows comfortable. There's also a nice, private courtyard for guests' use. Couldn't have picked a better hotel.

It is an ideal location.
Outstanding location in the heart of Chania. The only problem was finding the hotel on the first night (we arrived very late). We had a hugely enjoyable stay in Chania with some wonderful excursions including kayaking from Chora Sfakion and walking the Samaria Gorge. The bus station was well within walking distance.

Beautiful place with plenty of space and excellent facilities. Central but in a quiet corner of the old town. Daily cleaning and a lovely reception throughout the stay. Highly recommended!

Since there was no breakfast at the hotel, a few snacks or fresh fruit would have been a nice bonus. But that's it.
The room was lovely and had all sorts of nice details. The location is great and is easily accessible to everything in Chania. Despite being central, the room was quite quiet. The owner was very accessible and offered several recommendations to make my stay more enjoyable. I would 100% go back and highly recommend it.

We loved Sette Venti. Perfect location to stroll around Chania and get to airport (15 minutes by taxi) and bus station (7 minutes walking distance) from where you can get to Heraklion or to other planned day trips with external agencies. Katerina was always available before and during our stay, and helped us with perfect recommendations and booking restaurants and day trips. Special mention to the daily cleaning service as well, it was perfect everyday. Loved it!

The hotel is perfect. We like everything.
The room is spotless clean and comfortable. The hotel has both old town house charming and modern life conveniences. Front desk girl Maria is extremely helpful. Maria helped us book tickets to Balo and make sure we have everything we need for Balo trip. The cleaning lady is very nice and does great job cleaning your room. The hotel also has a very charming courtyard that makes you feel relax and homey.
