Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Sole e Mare is a lovely well kept row of self catering studio apartments up in the hill of Tsilivi and over looks the bay. The apartments are clean and have everything you need for a self catering holiday. Dennis the owner is always there if you need him for any issues. From the moment I booked the apartment till I left to fly back he was there ensuring all went to plan and I would like to thank him for being a very considerate host. When I opened the balcony doors to my apartment and my first view was a feel that you where on holiday and the apartments have an amazing view of the island of Kefalona and the bay of Tsilivi. It was lovely having ether breakfast or evening dinner watching the boats go by. The room is spacious and a lot of storage space for your clothes and luggage. There is a safe for your passport etc. Nice size TV however the channels are what you expect on holiday and we only had the BBC news on for the updates on the death of our Queen. The kitchen is open planned as a studio room would suggest and there is a cooking ring and all the amenities to cook a meal. The position of the Apartments can put some off as its on top of a hill but the walk to and from ( with a help of a taxi or two) town is well worth the view you wouldn't get if you was in town staying. I would totally recommend the Sole e Mare Apartments for two things. View and the Host.

GermanyThe shower in the quite small bathroom(2 by 2m) had no door/glass which made the floor of the bathroom wet after every shower. The breakfast was limited in quantity and options, as the items were on a 2-3 day rotation as most. The location is on a hill with very sharp turns on narrow roads leading to the village. It is also a bit difficult to reach without a car. There was no spare toilet paper, we ran out before the cleaning came(cleaning is every 2nd day). Also there was no salt and pepper, so if someone wants to cook on the otherwise great kitchen they would have to buy some themselves.
There was a nice view from the balcony area of our room. The village downhill from the apartment has great food options, is quite family friendly and the beach is superb. The bed was comfortable, with two pillows for each person, one soft one harder. The air condition worked great. Breakfast was served to the room, at a chosen time with different items each day. The kitchen was fully equipped. There was ample parking space which was also free. Wifi worked great except for times where everyone was at the hotel(breakfast and after 10-11 pm). The staff was reachable per Whatapp and answers very quickly and was very forthcoming.

RomaniaThe breakfast was not the best and the shower could be a bit larger, but overall it was a great experience!
The accomodation was fantastic, very close to the sea and the view was very nice. The room was very clean and comfortable. The best part of the accomodation was the host, Dennis, who was very hospitable, friendly and helpful. He helped us to get a trip to Keri Caves and one to Navagio and also to call us a taxi whenever we needed. He also helped us to search for atv-s or cars to rent. We definitely recommend it!

CroatiaThis amazing apartment was really clean, looking as new, with great staff. The owner was really nice with us. We had breakfast for three days, and it was like all flavours of Greece in one meal. Bed was like you are sleepin in heaven. Owner gave us map of Zakynthos and mentioned nice places to pay visit plus he gave us some tips for cheaper tours with boats.

LithuaniaThe shower needs some work as the curtain don’t block water spilling around. Nothing major, but would be a bit easier with longer curtain.
Beautiful view to the sea from balcony, had all equipment you would need for a stay in apartment. Very quiet, basic and simple apartments, but I wouldn’t expect more as you don’t spend time in the room during the day. Dennis the owner was absolutely fantastic and made my stay as comfortable as possible with extra mile! He was very thoughtful, flexible and helpful during the stay - helped to rent a car, put breakfast in the fridge for next morning as I arrived late and could enjoy longer sleep in the morning.

EstoniaThe shower has very short curtains so all the bathroom floor is full of water after showering. Also there is no information about the cleaning days. There was always only one toilet paper and no backup. Also there was no household paper, so we needed to use toilet paper instead and we were often out of paper. We also didn't understand the reception opening times because the time table said it should be open but actually it wasn't. There really should be a salt, pepper and cooking oil in the household.
