The only downside is the proximity to the road, especially if you like to sleep with an open window. On my next trip, I'll definitely bring earplugs. I can't wait to return again!

What an incredible place! Everything needed for a magical vacation is within reach. You can even watch both the sunrise and sunset from your own terrace without leaving the hotel. The room is more than just comfortable, and let the details be a surprise for you. The owners are very friendly; they will tell you and show you everything they know and help with anything you need. If you visit, be sure to order a cappuccino; it's the best in the world!

The staff (family) was so warm and welcoming and helped us get around, gave instructions for buses and transportation around Santorini. Moreover, the pool facilities are amazing and make the stay even more comfortable. Megalochori is also a beautiful location, the little village is absolutely necessary to see and at walking distance from the hotel.

Nothing to do with the hotel, but know that taxi service is very expensive and somewhat unreliable. I would suggest you have the hotel help with taxi/transfer to/from airport or ferry port as Uber confirmed my reserved taxi to the airport the night prior and then in the morning, the app said "no drivers available'... thankfully the hotel was able to call and get me a taxi (took 3 tries though!) to the port so I could catch my ferry.

Hotel is well located and walkable to the village of Megalochori. Room was spacious and comfortable with nice view of the water from everywhere on the property. Nice pool area and friendly staff.

We have returned to Hotel Star many times. We are warmly welcomed and find the hotel ideal for what we want. The rooms are comfortable with modern bathrooms and it is ideally located for the airport, ferry port and exploring the island. It is great to return to a lovely swimming pool and padded sun-beds to relax in the afternoon with a cool drink from the bar pool. Chris and Linda Hoyle

It is out if the hubbub of Thira but not too far to be amongst it each day. The owners were exceptional, helping us with bookings including car hire and trips. Breakfast each day at a small fee was delicious. The small Interesting town of Megalachoria was close by- with beautiful shops and tavernas. We also realised that if you walked down the street a short way and across the road you could view the caldera - a bit of a treat at sunset. Loved our stay.

A lovely, clean family run hotel! we were greeted so warmly and treated so well during our stay. The rooms were very clean and the grounds were well kept with a beautiful pool and bar area. The home cooked breakfast buffet had a lot of options and was more than enough food. Very convenient to all areas of the island and you can arrange anything you need from a ride to a sightseeing ticket through the front desk. Such a lovely family running the hotel! We really enjoyed our stay.

There wasn't anything that didn't like.

The location of the hotel is perfect. 5 min from the hotel is the local bus station that can take you to Fira or to Acrotiri and back The breakfast was great with many selections. The room was big with plenty of space and natural light.

The staff wasn't always there to find, and didn't have a good selection of alcohol at the bar . Also didn't have sheets ready for our pull out couch and when we asked for sheets they gave us the wrong size and no blanket

Friendly staff, the hotel is very very clean and in our room the cleaner lady came in every day and clean, she was so nice and owner of the hotel was very nice with us. We used also the swimming pool which was very clean, you have also a bar there. It is a quiet place, you can really relax there if you want a busy place full of tourist you can go to Fira. The bus station is 5 min walking near a little shop and you can find the bus schedule in the hotel reception

The breakfasts are the same every day, so if you are staying longer, they can be boring.

The price is very good, equivalent to the conditions. The rooms are refreshed and clean every day. Bathroom is also renewed and clean. There is a possibility to order breakfast.

We stayed on the main building, on a double bedroom with balcony. The room was somewhat basic but offered everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, as well as the bedding and towels provided. The pool area is really nice, and there is a bar that opens in the afternoon. The assistance and hospitality provided by the owners was above and beyond expected and made our stay a lot more pleasant. The location is really good, in a quiet spot within walking distance of bars, cafes and restaurants in the village. Also close is one of the main viewpoints for the famous Santorini sunset, away from the Oia crowds.

breakfast not worth the €7. not much else to do around the hotel vicinity so always have to go further afield. pool did get noisy & crowded at times not ideal if you just want to relax

The air-conditioning unit was not in the main bedroom but in the living room. But it was not needed since it was not that hit during the night.

Pillows were a bit too hard, shower didn’t have one door (3/4 only, but it’s OK) and bidet (toilet shower) didn’t work.

Nice quite room, swimming pool, bus stop near by to Caldera beach (also Red beach).
