Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWhat a gem! Stella Rooms is a 2 minute walk from town, you have views, all you hear is birds. The room I had came with a kitchenette, and Stella supplied me with coffee, pastries, eggs, oranges, bread, cheese and ham. It was a pleasure spending 5 nights in Kardamyli ( initially 2 nights, but I extended my stay), and I look forward to returning.

It was in a great quiet location close to the village overlooking olive groves yet a 2 minute walk to the harbour. It was clean, the bed comfortable, the hosts exceptionally hospitable providing coffee, bread, eggs and other things for the mornings. There was also a kitchenette if needed and a balcony to sit on to relax during the day. In all an enjoyable stay.

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn't like. 🤩🥰
What an incredible place. Stunning views perfectly located with sea to the front and the great Taygetos mountains behind. We were spoilt rotten by Stella with fresh fruit, cakes, brussetta, and fresh coffee every day. We also had use of the generous garden area with its beautiful olive trees. You could travel to the ends of the earth and wouldn't find such open warmth and generosity . You can feel the heart and soul all around you. Stella and her family are wonderful. We arrived as visitors and left feeling like family.

United KingdomWe did bump our heads on the ceiling of the penthouse sometimes! Tall people should book the spacious apartment on the ground floor… However, it’s a very cosy, very private getaway with divine views of sea and mountains, and we were super happy.
Perfect location within easy walking distance of the sea and local tavernas etc. Very quiet. Stunning views over Kardamili’s rooftops to the sea (and the sunsets), and the mountains behind. Our own private terrace that we used for sunbathing, yoga and eating under the sun umbrella. There’s a tiny exterior winding staircase to access this eyrie, which adds to the romance. Our wonderful hosts, Stella and her son Panagiotis made us very welcome and did everything to help if we needed something. They were always friendly when we met, asking if we were happy and enjoying our holiday. Stella left us delicious homemade treats and coffee on the patio table, I will miss her! We also loved our near-daily hikes up to Agia Sofia to watch the sun rise over the mountains. The water is sublime for swimming and we enjoyed discovering secret coves or jumping off one of the two piers. Take beach shoes for comfort. We didn’t feel the need to walk to the main beach. There’s an excellent baker nearby, good supermarkets and affordable restaurants for sunny lunches overlooking the water, plus a fine new place in the old town. There’s also an excellent wine bar, a cafe with live Greek music on Fridays and the best ever ice cream parlour, all within five minutes walk. Simple pleasures. We once walked to the beach at Kalamitsi, by Paddy Leigh Fermor’s house, for an unforgettable sunset swim. We’ve saved the gorge for next time and can’t wait to come back.

Stella and her son Pangiotis are lovely, kind, and friendly. We stayed them in 2019 and were very excited to return this summer. Stella's cakes and coffee were a fantastic addition, and nothing was too much trouble. Pangiotis organised a taxi to and from the airport for us. Many thanks for making our stay wonderful!

The location, a little off the main street, was ideal. The room was spacious with everything I needed - the kitchen area and shower were good and there was plenty of room for my clothes. Stella was very welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed.

NorwayIf you come in car, there are not so many places to park in front of Stellas house. Just ask Stella’s son for a solution.
Stella and her grandson met me in the yard when I arrived. She showed me everything in the room, and I got the key. Then she brought me a cup of coffee and a piece of cace. Every morning she brought a can of coffee, some fruit, fresh egg and milk from her son’s farm. Ham and cheese in the refrigerator. Stella has a warm heart, and she take care of her visitors. There is a short way to walk to the village where there are lots of tavernas and shops. Beautiful view for the sunset.

United KingdomThe room could have a bit more decoration to feel more homely, though the bed was comfortable which is very important.
Stella and her son who both look after the guest house are incredibly kind people. I felt very welcome throughout and was often given lovely gifts of homeade food, fruit, etc. As I was there for a couple of weeks I was moved to a room with a lovely view and balcony towards the sea. It is simple, but had everything I needed to feel comfortable, was good value, and I felt a bit of a home away from home. The location is also very convenient. I was able to cook for myself some, which allowed me to have some very good meals out when I wished to.

GreeceThe person who lives in the adjacent room (seemed to be family, not another guest) turned on a bright light outside, talked and moved chairs around in the wee hours. And the toilet made really loud sounds at several random times, also in the wee hours. Probably neither things are the host's fault. But we didn't sleep well.
Generous, friendly and organized hosts, comfortable sofa and beds, nice garden and balconies, good kitchen, great location. Nice welcoming atmosphere overall.

United KingdomBecause the apartment is at the top of the house there are lots of slopey ceilings so if you're tall you need to mind your head! It didnt really bother us too much as we didn't spend too much time indoors.
The apartment was at the top of the house and had plenty of space - a well equipped kitchen and a fabulous huge terrace with great views. Getting to the apartment is slightly unorthodox though! Stella was a brilliant host and despite the language barrier (she only speaks Greek) we managed to communicate pretty well! 😁. The fridge was stocked with cheese, ham bread and eggs when we arrived and Stella did a load of washing for us at the end (as we are on long road trip and were running short of clean clothes!) which we hugely appreciated. Situated just less than a 5 minute walk from Kardamyli centre - a great location.
