Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenLiked it all! I think for the host to make us visitors understand better the greatness of the building a walk through video would be very nice!!! I made one my self :)
Lovely house and host! Better than the pictures. It is actually kind of 3 houses and one attic. Can easily host up to 4 different families! we were just one family with lots of space :D even if we looked at all the pictures we did not quit know what we have booked :D - kind of a hole block made out of two big buildings (one buidling is split in two) - a garden with fruit trees, a courtyard with 2 dining places 2 pools (one heated small and one larger cold) 3 balconies and one roof top terrass. Nice neighborhood as well! minimmarket, tavernas and small shops about 2 km away.

GreeceThe weather wasn't very nice while we visited. The main area (living-room and kitchen) of the stone house is equipped with a beautiful fireplace. In the evening when some friend lit the fireplace we had a comfortable temperature in the room that allowed us to sit down and relax. In the morning though when I woke up alone and went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast it was pretty chilly (i am not familiar with lighting fireplaces) . I missed an air-condition or some other form of heating there. Plus it was rainy and there was no covered space outside of the house. We all missed an umbrella or some other solution to enjoy the garden despite of the rain.
Top stay for a group of friends with kids! The kids can play around all day-long in a safe environment with a lot to discover! Beautiful scenery, beautiful garden, well-kept traditional house, privacy, very good location, just a few km away from Chania! The house is equipped with everything one needs to cook! Thank you!

GermanyOur hosts were awaiting us when we arrived late evening. They filled up the fridge with some food basics for the night and breakfast. They went on site 2 times the week to water the garden and also to offer fresh bed linen and towels. And every time they brought a small eatable gift with them. Menia and Pantelis are great hosts, very helpful, and always eager to provide the best vacation experience - really awesome! We had ample place for the family and the great battle was to find the best room for everyone. We used to eat on the terrace and cooked in the well equipped kitchen next to the terrace (there are 2 1/2 kitchens). Because we had no need for all bedrooms, we turned one room into a playground for our little ones. This nice spot also has two pools - a bigger one and a heated whirlpool. Of course all of us loved the whirlpool - be it with bubbles switched on or off... A big plus was the gate for the big pool, which made it children proof. The ladder for the whirlpool we simply blocked with a chair and mad it children proof on our own. The location mixes old and new elements very well. Of course it has stairs and step all around. It is a closed/fenced ensemble, so you are on your own, with no interference with the street or others. We had some glitches accessing the internet - usually not that long. When it happened also cell coverage was mostly broken. Looks more like a general problem of the internet provider - for sure not a problem the hosts can fix. The location made is necessary to have a rental car to reach there or somewhere. The next mini market is 1.4km down the hill. Down there also is pharmacy, fuel station, some sort of tavern and local fast food shop. There are ample beaches around to reach in 10 to 20 minutes. With the family we went multiple time to Kalyves beach, which has beside a sandy beach also restaurants, shops, toilets and showers.

United KingdomEdrThe host was fabulous and had provided all the facilities we needed and more. She had even left a few basic supplies in the fridge. Everything in the villa was immaculately clean and good quality. Air conditioned bedrooms made sleeping very comfortable. Shaded communal areas in the villa included dining area, garden etc and we were able to enjoy family meals together (12 of us in the party). The villa was right in the middle of the community and people were very friendly. You do need to have a car to enable you to visit places of interest. The closest top 10 beaches in Crete was 1 hour 40 mins drive, beautiful lake 20 mins drive, harbour town of Chania around 20 mins, airport 20 mins. Heraklion was around 2.5 hours drive.

Belgiumeverything was super, if I do need to give a remar, I would say that the beds are rather hard.
Menia, the owner is fantastic, she was there when we arrived and was always at our disposal during our stay. We stayed in touch via the chatbox of booking.com which functions very well. We arrived late in the evening, Menia had made us very welcome, we even had fruit, bread, cheese, ham, eggs, water , coffee, etc already available in the house. Enough food to make it through the evening. In the middle of our stay, Menia brought us new towels and surprised us with ice cream. we only used the 2 rooms which are apart from the house. They were very comfortable , clean and everything was foreseen. The beds were a bit hard, but that is ofcourse very subjective. However there were both hard and soft pillows available, which is not always the case in other houses. We only used the separate kitchen, everything was there, We had very good weather and always ate outside. Even if it is a windy day, you don’t feel it much because the terras is surrounded by the house. The swimming pool was too cold to go in in May, however the jacuzzi was a good alternative.

United KingdomA number of our party found the beds a little too firm. Our only issue was that we understood from the property details that there was a ground floor bedroom with its own bathroom, all on one level. However, the bathroom was down four steps with no handrail, which caused some access issues for a member of our party with mobility issues.
Amazing place, wonderfully equipped and spotlessly clean. The pool, garden and multiple shaded areas were very good, and well used during our stay. The shower room in the garden was a welcome extra. Our hostess met us and made us very welcome and then returned to bid us farewell at the ned of our stay, with gifts for us! Thank you. You do need a car if you are staying at Stone Mansion as the village had no facilities.

SwitzerlandA lot of stairs, a little bit difficult for older ladies in the beginning, but once you get used to this, it keeps you fit!
The incredible charme of the house, the warm welcome from Menia, with a full fridge and all stuff you might need. I have never in my life rented a house, where you literally find everything from napkins, to tons of blankets, linen and towels, first aid and medicine and even lightbulbs and a torch in case of emergency. Not to speak of the free access to the bar and the fruit trees. If you don't believe me, go and see by yourself! I will be back for sure.

IsraelWe knew in advance that 3 bedrooms would be sharing a bathroom but I would have liked to have known in advance that one of the bedrooms is only accessed through a second bedroom. This did cause us some issues as the 2 rooms were used by couples. The 2 bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs and only accessed by going through a bedroom. Is a bit of an odd set up but we made it work.
The host Menia is incredible. She waited up until late for our arrival at 2.00am. She was always available for any questions or help that we needed both before our trip and during. The house is a great set up, especially the outdoor area. It is well equipped and having 2 kitchens is a huge bonus. We did not feel cramped. 2 of the bedrooms are large with ensuite bathrooms and these were very comfortable and to a high standard. We have never been given a parting gift from out host and this was very special.

United StatesWe did not have hot water even after following the steps provided one of the days. And we lost power as well but that was because of a outage in the city not the house itself. The Wifi was present but it was a little slow at times.
Plenty of space for me and my friends to enjoy or selves. We enjoyed the included amenities provided by the host as well. Amazing views and the host also helped provide us with a taxi as well
