Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only very small thing was the entrance to the car park was very narrow. And I would have liked a kettle in the room, but there was a fridge.
The bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel was spotlessly clean. It was a short walk to the beach, and right on the main street. Also a very short walk to the bus stop to go into Heraklion. Or an hours walk. Bus cost around 2 euro and a taxi was 14 euro.

United KingdomAs said above room, particularly bathroom was a bit tight. That said it had a nice walk in shower which I prefer and a good sized wash basin. In my experience is rare for a 4 star hotel not to offer a laundry service. However, there is an excellent one called Laundry box right opposite large supermarket just within my walking distance, or 1.5 euro bus ride.
The staff in all areas were great, especially the owner who made me feel especially welcome and 'at home'. This is a medium size family run hotel 1 block back from beach. My room was tastefully decorated but smaller than 2 others stayed in here in Greece at similar price, particularly the bathroom. Now in 4 Star Athens hotel quite large room and big bathroom with room for king bed and sofa, hence 4 star rating for Sun hotel on comfort, and 4 for location , typically beach front might get a 5, but obviously at a price. Pool area was great, decent size pool and excellent quality loungers, several of which were doubles. Liked location as several good restaurants within short walk, as were small supermarkets, with a pharmacy right next door. Large supermarket something over a kilometre away, but on bus route that stops right outside hotel .Roughly 200 metre walk takes you to short road down to beach. Tried several local places to eat but had at least 1 meal a day in the good sized hotel restaurant. Food was tasty and excellent value with many main courses under 10 Euros, with wine very reasonably priced. Server was efficient and very welcoming as were all the staff. I was really happy and relaxed in my stay here and would return if come back to Heraklion.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaSound proofing to a corridor is not the best (you can hear people talking and a loud noise from closing their doors). It would be good to add a shower curtain in a toilet.
Nice location, beaches are close and there is a bus station next to the hotel. The room was nice and has been cleaned every day. Good pool area.

United KingdomThe hotel doesnt overlook the beach - there is a road in front of the hotel and then other buildings or bigger hotels by the beach. TV only has one English channel.
Nice small clean & comfortable hotel near to the beach and local shops, places to eat and bus route direct to Heraklion. Hotel staff on reception are friendly and helpful. Pool area not too busy.

United KingdomThe room was much smaller then it appeared on the photos. The walls of the hotel are very thin so there was no chance of sleeping after 8 am as the hallway got extremly noise. at least they could put a rug down to soften the noise. The door of the bathroom was ridiculous as it had a gap between the walls. Breakfast was mediocre with very limited options
Location was really good, there were lots of shops around and the beach was only a 5-10 min walk. There was a bus stop right in front of the hotel which was great too. The view from the balcony was quite nice.

Italywe booked for 1/2 board but the food not good. most everything was prepackaged and just reheated. we are there the first night and there was a chose between 4 dishes and a buffet. the pizza was the dish I chose and it was subpar frozen pizza. We decided that it was better to eat elsewhere for dinner from then on even if we had payed for all the nights we stayed. in addition, only water is included for dinner where in the other hotels we stayed in in Greece had several choices. while for breakfast the other hotels included frappe’s, cappuccino, espresso, American coffee both cold and hot, this hotel only had hot American coffee and espresso the other drinks were an additional charge. if you want to use the safe in the room it was an additional 2 euros a day. it just felt like they were nickel and dimming you. In addition, both at dinner and breakfast none of the food at the buffet had any labels with ingredients which if you have a food allergy it makes it very difficult to know what you can eat. also, make sure you go with someone you know very well because the bathroom “wall” is glass and you can see into the bathroom.
the room was recently renovated and clean. they have a very small gravel parking lot which is convenient. we had no hot water for the first day but they were able to fix that pretty quickly. the women who worked at the desk were nice.
