Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TurkeyThe internet is not working properly and upstairs and the entrance (garden side) is very dark at night.
I like the location the place and structure design of room and staff attitude and cleanliness of the hotel. Owner Mike is very friendly and very helpful. The room is cleaned every day and all rubbish is taken out. They have good breakfast. Hotel is just a 5 minutes walk to port beach bus station and heart of Patmos night life. Also Historical side cave is only 1,2 km.And if you are fit enough you can walk from cave in trek way up to Chora Monastery and Wind mills.

United KingdomNothing! Exceptional value for money.
We visited 'Sunset' in early May. Mike and the staff were friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was generous, the accommodation spotless. Well located - with easy access to the centre of Skala. Generally, excellent value for money.

United KingdomShower facilities a bit odd, but it's OK for a few nights.
The manager is an ever so kind and intelligent man. Good choice of food for vegetarians and traditional diners. Not so much for vegans though, which I normally am but not in Ikaria. I was happy to try the local cream and honey. Bread was excellent, right out of the oven somewhere. Toasted, the slices were the perfect treat!

BulgariaLovely hotel, right in the centre of Skala! My friend and i really enjoyed our stay - the hosts were super lovely and helpful. There was a modest breakfast buffet every morning but the food was great and always fresh. Our room had a lovely terrace and air con. We were really satisfied with our stay :) The rooms were cleaned every day which was also fantastic! Definitely recommend it!

United KingdomBeds were a little bit uncomfortable, but Michael changed the mattress, which improved things.
Good family run accommodation. Michael is very friendly and helpful. Although it is an old building, it was one of the cleanest places we stayed during our island hopping trip. Breakfast is great. Excellent location, quiet and just a short walk to the square.

United KingdomNothing to complain about. If I had to mention anything the noises from the hallway can be loud because the hallway echoes, but not really a problem. Wish there was Internet in the rooms, but states in the listing that it is only in communal area so it's not a surprise.
Located close to the busy part of Skala but on a quiet street and very close to the sea. Mike and the staff were super lovely, helped us with anything we needed. Nice big airy room and terrace surrounded by greenery. Comfy beds, plenty of closet space, refrigerator to keep your water cold and good breakfast. Oh and to top it off, great price!

ItalyThe WiFi connection doesn't get to the rooms.
Almost everything In fact, the hotel could be a two star one if it wasn't for the old building structure itself. The staff is very kind and helpful, especially the owner, Michael. The breakfast buffet is always full and slightly various, with fresh products and dairy, local and international, both sweet and salty. The room service is good and the apartments are clean and comfortable. I recommend using the more you can the central garden provided with tables and WiFi connection where not only can you have breakfast but also study or read with a pleasing breeze. Incredibly quiet place, strongly recommended!

ItalyWi-fi was not always working, especially in the room. There are no plugs close to the bed, only one near the fridge but not enough to recharge multiple accessories. The roofs of all balconies and patio is covered with asbestos which is toxic, hope it gets removed asap.
Pension is located in a quiet area, close to the beach and not so far from main square. Breakfast was simple but offered both salty and sweet options. Room had a nice balcony with view over the beach.
