Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EstoniaBit noisy location, but that is something that has just to be taken into account. Ventilation in the bathroom could be better - takes ages (if at all) for the room (or anything left there) to dry.
Proximity to tourist attractions. Good breakfast. Clean room and surroundings.

CanadaNext to a noisy road but the rooms are quite soundproof. I missed two breakfasts because I had 6 am starts. Other hotels will generally pack you a sandwich to go but they were not able to.
Great central location close to the metro. Only one metro stop to Akropilis and two metro stops to Syntagma Square. As a solo female traveller, I felt very safe in this neighbourhood. There are two very nice wine bars very close to the hotel. The hotel is also very close to the Bread Factory for a wide variety of baked goods, desserts, and light meals. The staff are friendly and helpful. The beds are super comfy and the rooms are clean. Great breakfast too.

GermanyWifi was spotty at times, but it was not a big deal. The bathroom door was a bit awkward, to go around to the toilet, manageable tho!
Booked this hotel and did not regret it! Close to the metro stop, plenty of bars, restaurants and grocery stores. We enjoyed the area alot. The hotel staff was amazing, our room was not ready, they held our luggage while we got some lunch. Our room was not in the main building, but their suites building just down the road. We had a nice balcony and plenty of space for 2. The bed was comfortable, especially for Europe! Breakfast was great, plenty to choose from, typical European breakfast. We walked everywhere once we arrived. The night before we left, I asked the reception to book a taxi for us in the morning to the Port. The taxi was on time (early!) It was a great stay in Athens!

CanadaTraffic noise from the busy road but the noise is mostly drowned out when windows closed.
Friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast was great. Loved the choice of cold cuts, baked goods, cheeses, yoghurt, and especially the fresh tomatoes, roast carrots, and eggs with green beans! Excellent location near the metro. It was very easy to get to the main attractions by metro and a 5 day metro card was only €8. The location is also safe. I am a solo female traveller and I felt very safe going out in the evening. There are two excellent wine bars close by with knowledgeable sommeliers albeit somewhat pricey small food portions.

United StatesWe stayed here for a week and had a room with a balcony view on the 5th floor overlooking Syngrou Fix road. The road itself is very busy but when the balcony doors are closed, the noise is fairly drowned out. The hotel staff are friendly and the hotel itself is clean. Breakfast is good with a variety of options but if you need stronger coffee, out the door to the left and you'll find 2 coffee shops. The rooftop was my favorite- it gives you a view of the Acropolis and you can see as far as the ocean. The location was great! We were around the locals but just a 15 minute walk to the Acropolis and Plaka. The metro was a block down and the bus stop was across the street. If you are planning on renting a car like we did, there is a parking garage across the street that costs 8 euros per day. Great local restaurants with great prices a block down, supermarket close by, and a bank with outside ATM as well in case you need to grab some euros instead of going to an exchange place. Syngrou Fix is very lit up and usually bustling with people so you won't feel unsafe walking from the ruins back to the hotel during the day or at night. We enjoyed our stay here, enjoyed the proximity to all the sites but also the distance from the tourist chaos.
