Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Breakfast was great with plenty of healthy options. The location is walking diane from all of the great historical sites. There are plenty of good dining options nearby. Don't forget your earplugs! Greek rooftop bars attract revelers at all hours.

GermanyNothing to complain about, but small improvements are always possible - more storage space (i e shelves) in the bathrooms would be nice - bed mattresses were a bit too soft

CyprusIt was amazing! The staff was so friendly and kind always willing to help (24/7 reception was a big +). Prime location, close to everything, silent neighbourhood. The room was so cute and clean, changed towels everyday! The artist will definitely be my first option for my next visit in Athens!

The staff upgraded me to a really nice room with an Acropolis view and they also allowed my small dog to stay with me. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The bed was exceptional. Breakfast was nice and the neighborhood has a lot of delicious restaurants. If you like to walk this is the place for you - all the attractions, shopping, bars and restaurants are easy to reach. Bonus: location is also close to 2 Metro stations (Syntagma + Monastiraki) that go directly to Pireaus or the airport without having to change trains.

IcelandThe AC works well but could be more quiet, as it was difficult to turn it off during the night because of the heat, but then you have to listen to it. The room would benefit from a smart TV so guests could use streaming services.

We arrived early and they were able to not only get us in but upgraded our room for not extra charge. Room was very nice/clean and the shower was excellent. Location was good and it was quite. What stood out about our stay was the breakfast. One of the best omelets we have ever had.

United StatesNot very much closet/storage space for 2 people, and though not a dislike, if you are expecting large rooms think again. The room was a great size and value for its awesome location, just limited room to spread out for 2 people so pack accordingly! I expect this is the case for many city stays, so be prepared.
Breakfast was glorious. Fantastic room, views, and exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. Could not have asked for a better stay in Athens. This hotel is so cute, with a great rooftop bar/restaurant and such an awesome location - is very walkable to tons of restaurants, shopping, and about 15-20 minute walk to the Acropolis. While it is located in one of the "nightlife" areas of the city, it was pretty quiet at night, and we went to bed early most nights after our long days. My favorite was how helpful and how much care their staff showed for guests, we were so welcomed and appreciated all of the tips and recommendations!

United StatesThere were some communication issues with an early morning breakfast request but not a huge deal, I just had to wait for it a little.
The breakfast was tasty and cooked to order with good options. Great location, 5 min walk to Monastiraki metro station. Even felt safe walking the neighborhood past midnight on a weekday. We upgraded to a jr suite and that was a good size room with nice views. Very modern design and amenities. The room was sound proof once the windows were closed. Try the Avli restaurant next to the hotel for an authentic, cheap local Greek taverna experience.
