Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNot a fan of the floor to ceiling window in the shower, so I would not use it after dark, and it needs a rolling door to keep water inside.
The views from the balconies were very nice. Our large room was well appointed. The linens were a high quality, and the bed was super comfortable.

CyprusChania has been a favorite destination for us over the years, and our recent stay at Theta Boutique Hotel undoubtedly tops the list. This room was, without a doubt, the most exquisite we've ever had the pleasure of staying in. Words fail to describe the awe-inspiring view, and the bed deserves special acclaim. It was so exceptionally comfortable that I couldn't resist contacting the supplier to inquire about purchasing the same for my own home. The owner's warm hospitality added to the overall excellence of our stay, making the entire experience nothing short of incredible. Despite our visit being a brief one-night affair, there's no doubt that our future trips to Chania will include a stay at Hotel Theta. It's simply unforgettable.

United KingdomNot much to dislike at all. Bear in mind that there is no reception so watch out for email instructions for checking in.
This is a beautifully modern and well situated boutique hotel. George and his team were super friendly and helpful throughout.

CroatiaEverything was nice in this hotel-room is new and very clean, got everything you need and more, very comfy bed, even got a bottle of wine from hotel manager. Hotel is in a nice neighbourhood, neer the old town, everything in walking distance. The breakfast was amazing nearby in a nice reastaurant in marina, we enjoyed it so much! Also, it's very peaceful at night. There are many of restaurants and bar just on the coast when you exit the hotel. There is also a free public parking right across the hotel wich is great. I recommed it, would stay again! Chania is also a very nice town, charming and must see when you visit Crete.

We chose this hotel as we knew we could park our hired car close by and we are so glad we did. The owners of the hotel were very helpful in recommendations and general info even though there is no reception as yet - they were lovely, friendly and helpful people. We were met on our late arrival and welcomed into the hotel and we were always in contact with one of the brothers who owned the hotel. The hotel is new so everything in the room was perfect We also liked the area as it was quieter than the old town and harbour which is just a 10 minute walk away There were plenty of local bars and restaurants near the hotel.

United KingdomSome drain flies and the doors don’t have a spy hole but those are very minor issues.
Theta was perfectly located in Old Town Chania, the owners and staff were polite, friendly and very helpful. Theta is a new hotel, the rooms are a great size, big comfortable beds and has all the basics you need in the room.

United StatesUpon our arrival with met with George who escorted us to our room. He was very welcoming, cordial and informative. We were on the 3rd floor of the building overlooking the water. The room was magnificent with a huge balcony and a hot tub inside. All the amenities were brand new and it felt like we were at home rather than at a hotel. The location is great, just a short walk to Chania's Old Town and the boardwalk. Around the corner were coffee shops and restaurants.

GermanyIn the really nice shower (also with seaview) a little water got out of the shower area, so maybe provide another bathmat.
The room was big enough so you could really hang out there, especially with the seaview. Special thanks to Spyros who was the best host!

United KingdomMy wife & I had a room without a balcony and if available I would recommend one of the bedrooms with a balcony.
Hotel owners George & Spiros were extremely helpful and made our brief stay pleasurable. Hotel is well situated for a vast range of bars and restaurants and room fittings are of a very high spec. Once the brothers complete the lobby and breakfast facilities this will be an ideal hotel for a stay in Chania. I wish them the best of luck

United KingdomThe only really small item would be USB sockets.
We arrived late (9pm ish) after completing the Samariá Gorge hike and met by a very friendly man who provided us with the room key. We had an explanation of all room facilities. The room in really well equipped with robes, slippers, safe, iron and lovely fluffy towels. The spa Bath was absolutely amazing especially after hiking 18km! The location is brilliant and a short walk to the old town with many restaurants and bars.

Amazing location and hotel, only 3 months old so everything is very new. Spiros in particular was super helpful in providing local information, breakfast options as a vegan (lots of options in Chania) as well as just being a friendly face in the morning. He even promptly helped open our safe after we forgot the code ! Could not recommend Theta highly enough.

Staff welcomed me and my partner and we were looked after throughout our stay. Staff were friendly , polite and helpful. Great communication too. The room was big with a Jacuzzi you don’t see many hotels with a jacuzzi. Rooms were clean and the bed was so comfortable. Great location only few mins walk from centre and to get to some restaurants and places in Chania. About 5 mins walk from the beach and museum which is close by. Thank you Spyros , Elena and the team for making our stay memorable.

AustraliaLike so many European hotels that claim to have "parking", Theta doesn't have its own parking. There is a large, free car park over the road and we were able to get a spot in there, so no great harm done.
This was a last minute one night booking for us, we just needed a place to sleep. The hotel exceeded my expectations. It's very new, all clean and well appointed. But the best thing about it is the location - right on the edge of the old town, with really good close-up water views. A bargain for the price.

FinlandI really tried to think something, can't think of anything that I did not like. Everything was better than expected.
A perfect hotel experience! Modern, clean, and luxurious. Located right on the edge of the old town. Our room had windows in three different directions with stunning views. The evening sun shines on the balcony with chairs and a table, allowing you to gaze at the sea and watch the pulse of the beach. Room wasj ust like in the pictures. Really modern and cleaning everyday (new towels, new sheets). There is everything you need on your holiday, including a small fridge, coffee machine and safetybox for your passport etc. Toilet and shower also really spacious, modern and super clean. And there is also bidet-shower. Our hotel host, Spiros was incredible, 11/10! He is probably the most friendly guy in the whole Greece and he was really helpful and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our week-long stay.

GermanyThe hanger in the bathroom is a bit tiny for such luxurious towels. The glas partition in the shower is a bit small and the risk of inounding the bathroom is big. I would have loved to have a place to put the suitcases away.
The hotel is a couple of months old, so everything is absolutely new. The interior is modern, elegant and sleek, the view is even better. Very thick ans soft towels and very nice bathrobe. There are a minibar, a kettle and a coffee machine, some glasses, a couple of dishes with cutlery, and, of course air conditioning.
