How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The beds were more soft than our preference.
We were looking for a place nearby that area, so the location was perfect for us. Clean and the host was really kind and helpful. It was really easy to find the house and about the parking some days we were lucky and we even parked outside of the house

Everything!! The host provided us with information about everything from restaurants, grocery stores and bakeries. He even showed up with a bowkbof fresh picked figs Out of all the properties I have ever stayed in, this ranks in the top 1 or 2. The designer apartment was to a high quality and would love to stay there again

Not really in the control of the host but something to be prepared for....there are lots of mosquitoes around the house. The host supplies some repellent units (thankfully) but a fan would also help to deter them (especially if you don't love sleeping with aircon).
The host was so helpful and friendly. He checked in to make sure everything was okay and to see if we needed anything. The accommodation was very well equipped and very clean. It is a 15 mins walk to the M3 line which also goes to the airport.

Small thing of very soft mattress in master bedroom but that’s personal preference

Very clean apartment which is renovated to a high standard. Check in was great and the host let us check in early which was much appreciated. Location is walking distance to lots of options for food & drinks. 10 mins to the metro to get into the centre.

Everything was excellent.
Extremely clean, convenient and comfortable space. Close to the metro, attractions and in a very safe and clean neighborhood. AMAZING hosts. The best we have had in our many travels.

Nothing special to mention....
It is an amazing spacious apartment in the northern suburbs of Athens. Well-designed with a modern taste, yet classic, with a lot of amenities that make you feel at home. It is perfect for families, but also for couples. Nice and quite neighborhoud, with many shops around and options for dining and coffee as well. Two metro stations are nearby on a walking distance. It is also easy to find parking slots on the street in front of the house. The owner is really kind and helpful. We will definetely come back, should we find it available, next time visiting Athens.

Completely renovated flat, everything works perfectly and you can see the effort in the small details like the fridge is Miele and the wifi fiber works perfectly at 60+ Mb which allowed me also to work smoothly while enjoying the days of vacation. The place is very big, two separate bedrooms plus one balcony and an outdoor area behind. One bed is soft and one bed is hard so I could choose where to sleep. The host was kind and communicative.

We cannot think of anything that could be better.
The house is in a nice part of the town, not far from the city center. It is quite spacious, tastefully decorated and has all the necessary amenities for a longer stay. The host is very friendly and hospitable, it was nice meeting him. We enjoyed our stay at the house!

We liked everything, no negative comments!!
We really enjoyed the stay in Athens. Host was very friendly and helpful. Offered lots of help and information. He treated us as his own family. Really appreciate it. Highly recommend to anybody who wants to stay in a quiet area very close to the city. Shops are all nearby and the metro station just a few minutes walk. It was very easy to keep contact with him on the telegram also. Very pleasant experience thank you again.

Property is located in Kholargos (or Cholargos), a residential suburb of NWern Attica ; a quarter of an hour walk to the nearest metro station which is Ethniki Amyna Station (to/from Syndagma square, city center, and Athens Int. Airport). Or grab a taxi by using the application Freenow, reliable. The landlord was super-responsive, he called us some minutes after the reservation and provided available information. He followed up next day and asked if we needed any additional help : much appreciated.

I might call it bad luck. That day (Wednesday) there was birthday party in the flat above us. This means noise until 2am in the night. Not the best if you need to get up early. Walls are not protecting from the noise at all so you hear what is going on upstairs (literally everything).
Quite good location between Athens city center and airport. Was quite easy to find parking place. Parking is public in the street, first takes it. Owner is very interesting person, great communication.

One of the beds was les comfortable. No other issues.
Good location with useful facilities within 7 minute of the property. The apartment was newly decorated and provided all the essentials we required.

Everything was immaculate. The interior design was just amazing, the rooms and the bathroom were really clean and the whole apartment was really modern. We were also provided with coffee and tea as well as kitchen supplies.The location was really great too since the square was eight minutes away, there were restaurants, kiosks and a supermarket nearby as well, the center of Athens is also really close, however the area has a sense of peace and quiet. The overall experience was extremely great and we highly recommend it!
