Just been to the Vagia Mare hotel in gerani Crete. This place was spotless, I would hand on heart say this was the cleanest place I have been! the family run hotel was impeccable, the owner Manolis, wife Lia and family were welcoming and warming and added bonus of true humour 🤣 I will definitely go back again and again!! There is a bus stop outside hotel, which takes 30 mins to chania 👍 which we done and was pleasant. We also walked to plantanais couple of times 10 mins walk or 2 mins on bus! But to be honest we were happiest and staying in around gerani 👍

Everything was perfect.

The cleanest hotel in the world. Family business, everybody helpfull and friendly. We came at 3 a.m., the owner leave us direction at the reception, the room was open. He leave as beverages in the fridge. We ate breakfast after 10:30 although it was served from 8:30 to 10:30. Big portion and variety. Lunches also very tasty. Room was spacious and comfortable for 2 adults and one child. Swimming pool was ideal for very hot days, like 35C, deap, clean, with showers and bathroom close. In distance 100m there is a beach with grey sand with small stones but also beautifull clear water. We recommend ceramic shop 150m from the hotel, best for souvenirs. Chania is 30min by car. Perfect staying.

Wifi is weak in some rooms, as others mentioned, but I used the terrace to do my work, and it was totally fine. You can also enjoy a nice view of the garden and the weather.

The best thing about this place is the owner Manolis and his family. They are a super hospitable and lovely family that made the trip more enjoyable for us from the moment we stepped into the property. Ask them anything and they try their best to help you. Besides, the property is very clean, with daily cleaning service, a beautiful garden, pool, restaurant and the beach 5 minutes away.

There is free wifi, but it was a little slow.

A lovely property 20 minutes drive from the Chania old town, set in a quiet area of Gerani by the sea. The family run property is kept immaculately clean, and they are always available, providing an excellent, friendly service. The room was large with a small kitchenette, and a spacious balcony was perfect for breakfast and enjoying a glass of wine whilst watching the sunset over the mountains. There are rooms with sea views. The long beach, perfect for walks, is 50m from the property. The room had twin beds plus a sofa bed..

The wifi signal was quite weak in our room, but we were also the furthest away from the lobby with a fully booked hotel.. so that's understandable. And it's not that hard to download stuff for offline use or just simply get your digital work done in the lobby - get some wine while you're at it ;) I had to catch a webinar and zoom worked fine down by the lobby. Beach could use a clean-up. But that's not on the Hotel, it's just general beach care of the area. The Autumn season brings strong winds also so it's understandable that it gets a bit littered. We made it part of our daily beach visits to pick up and throw away the plastic around our area, maybe you visiting could do the same x

Overall super lovely stay! The owners Lia and Manolis are great people who really care about their hotel and the people staying in it. Huge room, with all you could need. Kitchenette, balcony, air-con, Greek TV. Meticulously clean. Beach with clear warm water (mid-late September) literally across the street! And a good-sized pool for the days when it's too windy for the beach, with wifi and a bar. The owners also make their own delicious wine, olive oil and raki! And the food in their restaurant is all homemade and authentic. Every dish we had was finger-licking good! Cannot say enough good things about this place! For a no-fuss chillout time by the sun and ocean - this place is all you could ever want :)

The spacious rooms are extremely clean. We appreciate the care and details attended to during our stay. The restaurant food is home-made and delicious! The live dancing was spectacular! The gardens are a work of art!

The property was really nice, clean and cosy. Garden was extremely beautiful and clean. Place was silent and good for the family also. We really loved the restaurant where you can find the best meals of the town.

If you miss the room cleaning time then you have to wait until next day for room cleaning. The bar and restaurant are not open at night. The bathroom could have been bigger.

Nice hotel with decent swimming pool and close to the beach. They also have a restaurant and a bar. Not too crowded in September. We had two balconies in our suite. Rooms were big and the AC worked without problems.

There is not much to not like about this hotel business really. This is a very honest proposition that exceeds its star rating on all marks and in fact is much better on certain areas than other 5-star resorts that we've had the luck to visit in the past. Well done to the staff and management team for keeping up the good work!

Spotless Cleanliness!!! While this is not a huge luxurious resort, is is a very comfy and well maintained property which is living proof that its owners have a keen attention to detail! We didn't have any breakfast as we prefer getting out of bed late, but we saw from other guests that it included a pretty wide range of hot and cold options that should satisfy all preferences. The overall setup is really beautiful, welcoming and cosy, you can have lunch or a quick nibble or drink by the swimming pool (would recommend the usual selection of Cretan rusk salad, club sandwich, pizzas, burgers, greek salad, pasta dishes etc. all delicious with the best and most precious extra virgin olive oil from the owner's family's olive trees) while also enjoying the surroundings of a professionally trimmed garden, of which I have only seen similar in 5-star luxury resorts in the far east. The rooms are also very spacious and comfy with a refrigerator and equipped kitchenette for those who wish to make their own arrangements, with wooden furniture, comfy mattresses and latest technology air-con units. Very family-friendly, I should also add! What more can I really say?

No complaints. It’s central to lots of shopping, easy access from the freeway, near the beach.

If you’re looking for a clean, centrally located, nice family run hotel this is the place. Facilities are very clean. Rooms are large and the pool and bar were always a great place to spend some time. The staff went out of there way to ensure our stay here was pleasant and accommodated our family’s needs. I don’t think you can find a better overall hotel to stay for the price. We definitely recommend this hotel for any type of stay.

there wasn't coffee or tea in the kitchen nor salt and pepper. there were mosquitos that force us to sleep with windows closed. there wasn't a net.

The apartment was very big, the hotel itself was very clean and well maintained the pool was clean and inviting (including the bar) the kitchen was well equiped

Very small shower. Shower curtain not sufficient. Lack of sufficient number of knives and forks ( only 2 of everything). Need a couple of mugs.

Very clean and regular change of towels. Good terrace areas. Nice pool and gardens.
