Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumAt times, you'll hear church bells nearby, but for the early riser this won't matter.
The guesthouse is beautiful. The room is small, but really cosy. There are also living areas on the ground and first floor, and a balcony with a few tables to sit outside. There is parking available in front of the Varosi 4 Seasons. The guesthouse is down the road on the right when you are facing the 4 Seasons. The people are friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi works perfectly (the password in the room doesn't work, but you'll find the right password at the reception). There is also a minifridge and shower products available. A buffet breakfast is served at the 4 Seasons, it was delicious.

United StatesOur bed was a bit harder than we like, but other than that, everything was perfect.
This guest house is so welcoming. The rooms are lovely and the common space is a great added comfort. We stayed here with another couple and having a comfortable sitting area just outside of our rooms was so useful for planning our daily activities. There was an outdoor patio which we utilized as well. Breakfast was at a separate property next door. The breakfast buffet was plentiful including fried eggs to order. We arrived by car, and were given a free parking spot beside the property.

United KingdomOur view was a abandoned house. Not the hotel s fault obviously but it’ll could have been improved somehow
Our experience in Varosi Guesthouse was absolutely incredible! The facilities have something special of another era and transfer you in the past. Everything was very well looked after and we were welcomed with a warmth that set a great tone for our trip

United StatesI have no clue how this place has gotten great reviews. Yes, it is adequate and cheap and located in the absolutely best part of Edessa (2min from waterfalls, 2min from old town). Rooms were adequate at best; internet essentially nonexistent (working verrrry slowly, but only in common area and even there only sporadically). Unless hard up for the savings I would suggest to pay an extra $20/day and book the Varosi Hotel Four Seasons next door: a gorgeous new building with glass floors built on top of 4th century BC city walls, plus views over the valley.
Location; breakfast at Varosi hotel was quite good

GreeceUnfortunately, the Wifi was really poor. On the first floor, you would barely connect.
An amazing guesthouse in the heart of the old neighborhood of Varosi. The fireplace in the living room, the big and relaxing sofas, and the receptionists' warm welcome make a pleasant atmosphere! It is definitely worth a second visit!

NetherlandsThe shower is indeed an 'issue' for tall people (my husband is 1m94), as the ceiling is a bit low. Not sure there is anything the property can do about it. The breakfast, which you take at the other hotel (100 metres away) is limited in comparison to other hotel buffets (could definitely add a bit more variety), but the view from the terrace outside where you take the breakfast more than makes up for it.
THOROUGHLY recommend this hotel. Such lovely people in reception; if you love being in old but modern this is the place for you. The history in this area is amazing; the natural beauty (5 mins to the waterfalls for example and the view from the other hotel is stunning). We were lucky enough to be alone in the 'house' and had two rooms -so having access to a central communal living room was absolutely amazing (as opposed to just being in a room).

FranceFuture booker’s should be aware that although the Varosi Guesthouse and Varosi 4 Seasons are located a few meters apart, owned by the same company and that breakfast for both establishments are taken in the latter, the rooms in the Varosi Guesthouse are significantly smaller than in the Varosi 4 seasons and whilst lovely, they are cramped. Equally you don’t have the beautiful views over the valley from the terrace, (instead facing a crumbling old building opposite).
The property is charming and retains the character of a traditional house of the area. It was spotlessly clean, perfectly located and good value for money but what makes the Varosi Guesthouse stand out is the kindness of the staff. They are simply lovely and we would return just to meet up with them again!

United KingdomThe rooms were very small and it was fairly expensive.
It is a lovely guest house in the old town of Edessa close to the water falls. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast (served in the hotel next door) was great with amazing views from the terrace. The guesthouse also had seating area in front of the house and a small shared balcony. The decor was lovely traditional.
