Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesIt would be nice to have access to the open courtyard seating/dining area at later hours. Sounds of pigeons outside of the window could maybe be addressed.
This was such a homey and hospitable place in the middle of a city that was a bit busy and not near as friendly as the hotel. Conveniently located to popular areas for dining, shopping and even fitness options. The hotel should try to partner with some of these surrounding businesses to build package visits if possible.

NetherlandsThis small hotel is situated in a lovely traditional two storey building with an inner courtyard. We stayed in two different rooms, both very nice, with a sligh preference for the upstairs front room (bit more character). Excellent breakfast buffet served in the courtyard, lots of choice, freshly made eggs, great coffee. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location in the center of Heraklion, lots of places to eat nearby, yet very quiet.

PortugalIf there is something I missed, it’s only that there were no wineglasses in the apartment …
Nestled in the heart of Heraklion, this unique house offers unparalleled convenience, with all key locations easily accessible by foot. Each apartment within the house boasts its own distinct charm, adorned with imaginative decorations and tender loving care. While the property lacks private parking, a cost-effective parking solution is conveniently located adjacent to it. This residence comes highly recommended for families seeking a city stay or those with early airport departures, promising a blend of accessibility and enchanting accommodations.

SpainI expected the room to be bigger. It was too small to be a family room for 4.
The building was beautifully restored and in a perfect location. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great.

GermanyThis is a wonderful place if you're a solid sleeper and you don't mind noise, or indeed if you're in Iraklio for a clubbing weekend. The hotel is in the centre of town and it is very noisy, even with earplugs. I am a light sleeper and I did not sleep well. Otherwise would definitely recommend it.
The hotel is a beautiful building very centrally located. Breakfast is a very generous buffet that has EVERYTHING. The people are very friendly and helpful.

United StatesI didn’t like that the water from the shower leaked outside of the shower cubical and onto the floor. There was quite a lot of water I had to use the towels to soak up. There was no place to hang the robes after use and I was missing the slippers that are supposed to come with it. I also thought the closet was in an awkward place and could’ve been swapped with where the sink was in my opinion. It also seemed like the host was doing everything from breakfast to room check in to cleaning of the rooms.
Breakfast was perfect, lots of options and the host cooked the eggs to my liking. The room was tucked away in a corner which was nice for me as I wasn’t looking to be kept awake all night.

Sri LankaWe stayed one night at the hotel, it is the perfect location, right in the middle of Heraklion. Can just pop out and wander around the town with lots of shops, cafes and tavernas. Easy to check in, the room was great and the staff friendly. Breakfast was also great. I would highly recommend and would stay there again in my next trip to Crete. The hotel booked for us a taxi to the airport the next day only took 15 minutes to get there)

GreeceCar parking is difficult in the city center. But I guess this is the price you need to pay when you are so centrally located in a big city.
The hotel is very well located in the center of the city with easy access to very nice restaurants, bars, parks and historical places. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The breakfast and the staff are great.

GermanyNothing to complain about :)
The room was spacious. The shower was spacious as well and no problem with wet floor afterwards, which was quite often an issue on our trip on crete. The breakfast was very delicious and I am generally not a breakfast person! The eggs were devine. The breakfast area was a nice backyard. The hostess was very friendly and helful with transfer to airport. Only 2min walk to small alley with lots of restaurants. For being located directly in city center it was very quiet during the night. However, our window faced the inner courtyard.

United KingdomUnfortunately it was a nightmare for checkin. I advised arrival 22.00-23.00 but hotel completely shut up. Mobile numbers I rang 4 times without reply and sadly I think that's because I had UK number. Saved by a greek neighbour who called. A stressed start to our holiday.
Nice relaxed atmosphere. Comfortable room and good location. Friendly staff prepared good breakfast and helpful.
