Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIf you want to be close to the beach you can’t just stroll there because the hotel is up the mountain, about 30 minutes walk down to the town and beach ( Taxi down in 2023 was 5 euro each)
Beautiful location by a charming authentic village, fabulous views of the mountains and the bay The walk to the beach is steep, but you can get a ride from the hotel easily Or walk down and get back Food amazing Staff polite, professional and very friendly

Switzerland- The pool opening at 10:00 is very late when you have children. I understand that it is for everyone’s tranquility but maybe 9:00 or 9:30 would be nice.
- The rooms were super clean and nice. The rooms were very quite at night. - The view over the church was amazing. - The homemade breakfast was very good. - All the staff were quite nice. Especially the managers.

CanadaThis comment is more about the hotel's location in Tholaria. When I'm traveling, I usually like to buy beverages and snacks at the local super market. I didn't realize that there isn't one in Tholaria. The closest one is in Aegiali. However, there is a cafe/restaurant in Tholaria that has a mini market inside where you can buy some essentials. On Google Maps, look for Χορευτής cafe-παντοπωλείο-restaurant. To get to it, walk up the main steps into Tholaria, keeping the church to your right. After about 25 steps you will see Sea Dream and a small cafe on your left and another small cafe on your right. Keep walking up the steps past them and walk a bit further until you see an archway. The Χορευτής cafe-παντοπωλείο-restaurant is just past the archway. There is a small doorway on the right that looks like it leads into the kitchen. Go inside, even if the locals are looking at you strangely. They're just surprised you know about the mini market. Inside, immediately to the right, there is a cooler where you can find cheese, milk, cold beer, etc. If you turn left there are some bins with fresh fruit and veg. Past the fruit and veg is a small cave-like room with snacks, bulk beer, wine, bread, etc. You may need to ask them to turn the lights on so you can see (they keep the lights turned off to save energy). There is a till by the kitchen/doorway where you can pay. I'm not sure what payment options they have because I paid cash.
I booked this property because of the pool, and because the rooms are modern and comfortable. I did manage to get a few swims in, despite the poor weather, and the pool was just the right length and depth to do some (short) laps. I stayed at the hotel at the end of April / beginning of May, so the hotel restaurant was only offering a few simple dishes for lunch and dinner - mousaka, pastitsio, fava, goat stew, etc. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend that you rent a car so you can go to Aegiali for additional lunch and dinner options, and so you can explore the rest of the island. Chora, about 20 minutes away, is particularly charming.

Fantastic location right at the entrance to the village. Enough parking spots. Extremely cheerful and service-oriented staff. Very clean. The highlight of this year’s summer holidays was our stay in Vigla Hotel. Over the years we have stayed in many hotels in Cyclades but we have never experienced such hospitality. Genuine nice team with a smile on their face and happy to assist with everything. We enjoyed a lot our stay in the newly renovated rooms (extremely clean and very nicely decorated), the breakfast buffet (full of handmade surprises and quality/tasty food) and the relaxing afternoons by the beautiful pool. Many thanks to all the team (reception/catering/management/cleaning/pool/transfer) for making our summer holidays special and relaxing. These days is very rare to find this level of commitment to good service in hospitality industry therefore we highly recommend it.

United KingdomThe Vigla is a lovely traditional style hotel which is a superb choice for hikers, looking for a base on an unspoilt island. Despite having a pool and bar, The Vigla retains the feel of the island where you feel that not much has changed for over 30 years. Our bedroom was comfortable but not ‘styled’ and the common areas were clean but unmodernised. However, the views were fantastic! The breakfast was a served buffet (due to Covid) and the service was excellent as was the home-cooked food - particularly the seeded bread. Evening meals, also home-cooked were traditional, tasty and hearty. The Vigla is in a small hamlet about 30 minutes walk from the beach by the port. There are also some well marked walks from close to the hotel, but public transport is almost non-existent so to see the whole of the island would require a car.

ItalyNo way to go to any beach without a car (1h walk), on the bottom of the island so very far from the other end (1.30 by car) which makes traveling the island hard
