The village of Koutoulafari is beautiful with many good restaurants and bars, You can walk down the hill to the sea remembering that it is all up hill on the way back!!!!!!!

The shower cubicle had glass screen, but whichever way you positioned the shower head the floor got soaked everytime

Little complex was nicely laid out, clean and well kept with its own bar and pool. Just out of town (the party town towards the sea and marina) but had at least a couple of dozen restaurants/bars plus shops and minimarkets. Near and easy to get on main road to all parts of crete.

Because we stayed later in the year, we got very little sun on the balcony however there was always a sunny spot around the pool. Not all the staff were as warm and hospitable as you might expect.

Beautiful traditional style accommodation in a great location. The room was one of the best standard of Greek self catering accommodation that we have stayed in. Nice views too.

Location, settings, the room was amazing. We had the top suit with a huge roof terrace and amazing views. Vangelis had great banter with us, food was great and we met some lovely people there too. One of our best holidays. Can't wait to go back.

I loved that this property was centrally located .. right in the heart of everything. the staff were great and so was the owner .. the pool and surrounding areas were beautiful. the villa was very comfortable and so tranquil. will definitely stay here again . loved the owner. she was the communicating with us months before we arrived and was very accommodating. she took great care of us.

We didn't like the pool being a little small. It's fine for chilling in but was almost impossible to use when families with children were using it. Dive bombing splashing... its too small to use in this way. It meant that the adult guests, of mixed ages were forced back out to their sunbed until the children left.

Beautiful building fully of character but modern. Room was large with sea views across to hersonissos. Beds mega comfy. Location is perfect really. Just a 30 second toodle to the beginning of shops and bars, restaurants. Koutouloufari is a very special place. Beautiful. Friendly and very safe.

Nothing, it’s all good.

This is the second time that we’ve stayed at Villa Diktyna and in all honesty, we loved our stay just as much as before! The room we had (sea view) was bright / breezy and really nicely appointed. We loved sitting on the balcony and watching the sun rise! The bed was super comfy and the kitchen area very usable for prepping breakfast / lunch etc. Staff are superb! We had great comms prior to arriving from Anna. Vangelis was also helpful and he manages the pool bar and ensures great music is played by the pool all day! A special thanks to the housekeeping ladies who do a great job - the place is absolutely spotless). Locationally, Villa Diktyna is in a great position. As and when we return to Koutouloufari, we’ll look to stay here again. Thanjs

Nothing to dislike . Note a/c not in lounge area where there is more sleeping so could be very warm in high summer. there are fans .

Close to the village of Koutalafari and its restaurants and bars. It was small and personal. Nothing was too much trouble for the small team of staff. special mention to Vangelis the chief cook bottle washer barman extraordinaire !!

You pay extra for airconditioning (7EUR per day), the pillows are pretty hard and the shower has no doors, so everything gets pretty wet all the time. But those are little details compared to the plusses for this hotel!

The hotel looks just gorgeous from the outside with flowers everywhere above the terraces, pure romance! Room is perfectly equipped and facilities are good, especially for this price. Late checkout was not a problem at all, for a little surcharge we were able to stay all day. The hotel is not too big, so it never gets too busy. There were also mainly couples in the hotel. Highly recommended!!!

Some of the rooms are very close to the pool bar area, and some days people were there drinking til past 1am and it was very loud in the rooms. The swimming pool did not open until 10am which seemed quite late if you wanted a swim before you went out for the day. The barman and I'm assuming manager was somewhat unapproachable and seemed very overworked and fed up. Tried to give him the benefit of the doubt as I'm sure it's been a busy season, but it did make the atmosphere a bit strange at the bar.

Really great location, close to all the lovely restaurants of Koutalafari and only 15 minutes down to the sea. The hotel is really well maintained and clean, and the pink flowers everywhere are spectacular. The pool was well kept and the rooms were cleaned daily.

Pool shuts a little earlier - dead on 6pm- so cant dive in after long walk from beach! ( but that's just our previous routine) and it does make for a quiet tidy surround so not a big issue at all

Fabulous apartment, nice extras( robe, slippers, wine, logo towels,iron,decent bed linen etc).Very organised establishment, spotlessly clean and quiet.Well maintained pool. Good location. Civilised guests. Great facilities provided if return flight hours after check out. Really good value 😊 Nothing in view was tatty! Bar open until around 1am but no issues with sound travel at all and nice to have on site
