Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicIt's not the owner's fault, but there is a dog shelter across the street. We are dog lovers and they undoubtedly suffer here because their howling is constant (especially at night very disturbing and we had to sleep with earplugs the whole stay). The owner tried to solve the situation (by personal contact and through the police). In that regard, the noise was exhausting. The cleaning in the villa could be of better quality. Bathrooms in particular show signs of mold. Moisture also penetrates the walls. We believe that it is due to the not quite successful sealing of the shower enclosures. The air conditioning unit would also deserve to be cleaned of dust. We were a bit missing a microwave in the kitchen. Of course, it can be replaced with an oven or an electric stove.
I very positively evaluate the responsiveness, promptness and willingness to solve all our requests from the host (owner and representative of the owner - Minas). Minas was in contact with us not only before arrival, but throughout our stay. Hereby, we thank you very much for your hospitality, when he brought home herbs for us and ensured the purchase of food for the fridge (bread, butter, milk, eggs, ham and cheese, juices, water...). The villa is in a very pleasant location, far from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet very close to beaches, taverns and shops. However, we recommend renting a car. Insect nets are a very pleasant and much-appreciated bonus in the villa. However, mini ants were trying to get into the villa throughout our stay. They are very diligent and will crawl through the sewers almost everywhere. We recommend buying an ant killer. The pool is a very pleasant addition to your stay if you don't want to commute to the sea every day. Since we chose the end of September as the period of our stay, it was already quite cold. However, it is certainly very refreshing on hot summer days. A sightseeing train passes by the villa at regular intervals, but it is not intrusive at all. We particularly appreciate the mature conifers near the fence, so that a stay in the villa offers sufficient privacy. The washing machine in the villa only has Greek instructions, you can manage with a little wit and a Google translator :-) The stay in the villa was very pleasant. Minas and the owner himself were very helpful throughout our stay and responded favorably to our requests - reducing the outdoor lighting, adjusting the pool's filtration, providing a vacuum cleaner for self-cleaning, updating the wifi connection, etc. However, the harmony was disturbed by the constantly howling dogs from the shelter over street. If we can have a recommendation for other guests - we suggest improving the quality of cleaning, especially of bathrooms and showers.

United Kingdom1. There was no electric kettle so, to make a cup of tea or coffee we had to boil water on the electric stove; 2. There was a slight smell similar to "baby sick" around the fridge when the Villa had been locked up for over 3 hours - we think it was related to the drains BUT TO BE CLEAR once all the windows were opened the cool breeze through the Villa meant that the smell dispersed within 10 minutes.
Great location - 7 minutes to the excellent Analipsi Beach (rated in Crete's top 10 beachs) where there are lots of lovely beach-front restaurants. Plus, lots of historic sites to visit within 30 minutes drive including Vinyard Tours. Good AC and the Villa was fitted out very nicely.

United KingdomBeing really picky. The showers could do with a bit of maintenance. That was my only (very small) gripe about the property.
Loved the villa. Everything there you need. Serviced twice by the housekeepers for a ten night stay. Spotless accommodation. Secure parking, lovely garden, modern cool villa. Each room has electronic shutters and fly screens. Not one single insect bite the whole holiday! Only a 20 min walk to hersonnisoss old town. Lovely village with super restaurants. A bit further away from new hersonnisoss so if you're looking for action you might want to be nearer there. We hired a car. Villa also near to arion stables. Minas our host was wonderful and will help with anything you need. Highly recommended.
