How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

A very comfortable apartment, which is highly recommended! The owner keeps a spotlessly clean house and even takes you to the airport - which is not too far away - on your departure day for a small fee!

Impeccably clean and availability of the host. He was waiting for us outside even if we were over an hour late. Many nice attentions: food, fruits, snacks.

A more obvious sign could be used to remind people that the hot water needs to be turned on.
The host was very welcoming and solved all our problems. Because we had to fly back and forth to Santorini in one day, the flight time was very early and late, and the host provided airport pick-up service, which was very helpful for us. The apartment was large and warm, and the host decorated it very carefully, and the items were very complete.

Value for the money, whole apartment, very clean and tidy. The hosts even provide for some tea and coffee, fruits, and a toast. Great and efficient communication. I got help both from getting to the apartment and to the airport for a very reasonable price. Very close to the airport.

A very nice gentleman met us at the airport and took us to the apartments. I liked the town of Spatas better than Athens, so everything here seemed very OK to me.

Please check the shower/tub for a leak because the floor seemed to fill up with water after taking a luxurious tub.
I really liked the convenience and option for couch to convert to a bed... lots of extra bedding. Loved the little extras like a sandwich in the refrigerator and fruit, tea and coffee available. The best part was the owner met us upon arrival and was available to take us to the airport at a very early time! Excellent service.

Exceptional. Your own ground floor apartment! Also, the owner picked me up at the Kantza metro station (15 euros) and brought me to the ATH airport early the next morning (10 euros). A great convenience!

The bathroom was a little cramped and the shower was over the bath.

We arrived early, but could leave our luggage and walk to a very nice coffee shop a few minutes away. At 14:00 the apartment was ready - very clean and neat, with ample tee and coffee provided and juice, sandwiches and fruit for our use in the refrigerator. The owner would have transported us to the airport at 02:00, but at midnight we received a flood warning and KLM informed us that flights were delayed. It was agreed that we could stay until 12:00 and we were even provided with extra sandwiches for breakfast.

The bed was not very comfortable.
The owner is a lovely person who accommodated me with a wake up call and pick up from and to the airport. I was very comfortable with the overnight stay and their hospitality. An excellent value for an entire apartment. I will definitely stay there again in the future.

Charming hosts . Very responsive . Perfect for an overnight stay when transiting in or out of Athens as very near the airport. Kostas (our host Nikole’s father) ,picked us up at the airport and dropped us at Lavrio Port the next day for a very reasonable fee. The house was well equipped and very clean with nice little cafes etc 5 mins walk away.

We didn’t go out to eat, but the area seemed mostly residential and didn’t appear to be near a commercial area. We stayed there because of its proximity to the airport, as we had afternoon flights the next day.
It is a whole apartment built in the back of a house originally for family members. Therefore it was cozy, spacious, comfortable with everything we could want - including water, sandwiches, fruit and a breakfast snack. Beautiful gardens. Very private and quiet.

Wow - highly recommend if you are transiting in Athens - best service you could ask for - if offered, take the option to be collected and dropped off, 10 minutes from the airport. Family run business good English and so helpful - only had a day but for very small fee took us to a local station wrote a simple itinerary and arranged a pickup so that we were able to do the essential sights of Athens and be in bed by a reasonable time zero stress ready for our flight the next day. The room has everything you could desire for a short stay. Thank you so much!
