Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceThe ventilation system in the bathroom is VERY loud and you can't avoid turning it on. So when you visit it at night you will possibly wake up your companion.
We like the accomodation: it was warm and cozy, delicate decorations and big balcony. Towel-dryer was very useful due to rains outdoors. The food was deilicious and Napoleon himself was very friendly so we felt warmth even during dank and cold days.

United StatesWe are in our mid-60’s and had no trouble walking to the guesthouse and going up and down stairs. However, outdoor pathways can be slippery.
This was a great experience! Napolean, his wife and their assistant are wonderful people and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Kalarites, a small rural mountain community - it is a very scenic place. We had dinner and breakfast there and both were very good. Our room was large and the bed was comfortable. We only stayed one night but wished could have stayed longer.

GreeceShowers needed a little attention. But did not detract from our stay
Beautiful traditional Greek property. Perfectly placed within the village. Great hosts and good food. The addition of the use of a large lounge and kitchen was great for us as two couples travelling together.

PolandThe door to the bathroom does not close from outside and the bathroom door handle falls off, it's not a big issue, but something that could be improved.
There is something "real" in the place which makes it exceptional. It is cosy, simple, bit tight (but maybe it's because we had to fill the place with loads of our belongings). It was hot summer day in Greece but it was enugh to open the windows to make the night really pleasant. There were no moskitos in the area (despite plenty of moskitos in other places in Europe around that time). It's also very quiet (if you don't count the church bell ;) ). Vegeterian breakfast was very good. The village is worht visiting, the hike to Syrrako took us (2 adults + 8year old child) less than 1 hour one way - wearing sandals was not an issue, but more protective shoes will not be a bad idea...

FinlandJust to note: there is no actual reception; Napoleon's tavern is 30 m down, you go there first and get the keys etc. The bed was not the softest one, but such things are irrelevant in this unique and precious place!
After ten holidays in Greek mountains, this village is my favourite and Napoleon's place is the most original one. No cars in the village, a real paradise. Perfect for hiking (80-120 min to Syrrako, depending on your speed). The air is so cool that the room was nice at the end of July without AC. I wouldn't call this place a hotel or a guest house, it feels like like returning to your own home.

IsraelThe hotel is located in the center of the village which is inaccessible by car. So you have to park quite far and walk with your bags. Its not that bad but just be ready for it.
We actually had a huge house just for ourselves with a living room, a kitchen and two bedrooms. The view from the room was great. Napoleon’s warm hospitality was amazing. Very very kind people. The food in their restaurant was one of the best we experienced.

ItalyGuesthouse is awesome, the only problem is with Google Map direction: it send us and our motorbike through stairs.
Stunning peace & scenery. It was like being in a world i though lost. Best Host ever: not simply "a room" but full use of two-storey antique/renovated building / delicious local homemade dishes / he literally saved us that were stranded among stairs with our motorbike (damn google map!)

GreeceThe Hotel is situated a bit far from the parking lots , can be challenging to carry luggage. It needs some maintenance and we were NOT offered breakfast 2 out or the 3 days we stayed especially on the Monday that we left we found the restaurant / breakfast hall totally shut until late in the morning and all this, even though it was incl in the price , not very nice
Kalarites Village is wonderful , one of the top Mountain villages in Greece both for Hiking in the area and for Historical visits. Zaglis hotel is one of the 2-3 choices in the Village , it is a cosy Hotel in the upper part of the Village with Wonderful View , clean rooms , that are warm heated in the low temp of the area. The management are wondeful and kind people , very welcoming and helpful

GreeceTwo things that should have been mentioned in the hotel page: there is no access by car into the village, and the reception is not where the hotel is, but rather at a tavern a bit lower into the village. It was hard to locate the staff and to get to the hotel.
The view is great, the rooms are reasonably clean and comfortable
