Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt would’ve been great if there was a place to get clean drinking water in the hotel 24/7. The office had hot and cold drinking water, but closed at 6 pm. The ladies working in the office were always happy to let us in when we needed water, however, so I can’t complain. Just know to plan accordingly.
Great location! Safe and very close to the main attractions- without being too close to the loud bars. Very friendly staff that helped us organize transportation to and from San Pedro for a good price. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, good water pressure in shower. Nice views of the lake. Happy to support a locally owned business!

Very good value for this location. Only a couple minutes walk to the bars and restaurants. Staff were nice. They even asked me if I wanted room cleaning service. I booked the bus to Antigua with them. I would stay here again. Highly recommend!!

The room was nice and very bright thanks to the big windows and it was very clean. The location was also great as it 5 minute walking from the pier but in a quite spot.

IrelandRooms were very clean, with our own bathroom. We stayed for 4 nights and they emptied the bins and changed our towels regularly which was a treat when travelling. Our bed was big and comfortable. No air conditioning but a fan in the room. The location was close to the main street area of San Pedro. Staff were very friendly and helpful when booking tours and transfers through the hotel.

United StatesDrinking water facilities could have been placed on each floor. A shelf or hooks in the bathroom could have been provided.
Quiet hotel, extremely clean, just off of the main street, so away from the bars and clubs. Wonderful staff. Nice balcony with seating. Good WIFI. Unfortunately when we were visiting the electricity around the lake was being upgraded and all the towns lost power. The hotel had a generator, noisy, but used occasionally. Great value.

United StatesA communal fridge would be really nice to have and refillable water outside of reception. You can see a little bit of the lake from the balcony but not exactly a lake view like advertised.
A more modern and new hotel in San Pedro hotel which is super comfortable and very clean. Extremely comfortable bed and good size bathroom. Close to the center but a few minutes away so it’s much quieter, especially on weekends. There’s a rocking chair and small table outside each room to relax and lots of outlets (including outside the room). The family who runs the hotel is so kind and helpful. When I was sick they brought me water (I was too ill to go downstairs to get the free refillable water at reception) and there’s a WhatsApp number they gave me to reach out if I needed anything. There is hot water in the shower, you just need to turn the handle a little bit for the lowest pressure. Even though my room didn’t face the lake but the inner courtyard, I loved hearing the birds and nature sounds. They can also book tours for you and they offer a laundry service. If you’re staying for longer you can request staff to clean your room. Wifi worked pretty well from the room but worked perfectly from the balcony. TV was nice to have when feeling sick to relax in the room.

United KingdomMore drinking water points needed. Sometimes we couldn't fill up our bottles due to the water machine being in the office and it being locked sometimes. It would be helpful to have a water point by the stairs so access is available 24/7

South KoreaClean, and I mean CLEAN! If you've ever travelled with someone who is so picky that they notice and complain about every tiny odor, speck & hair, take them here--they'll never leave!. Everything is new and comfortable. Other reviews pointed out that the room is a little small, but it's perfectly sufficient. As for the shower, it's warm & fine if you don't turn the tap up all the way. You have a space on the walkway outside your room with a rocking chair & table to enjoy the lake views. The roof on top has great views of the area too--I recommend a sneaky cold beverage up there. Close to the main strip, but set away from it. Other reviews pointed out noise, and, yes, there are some annoying dogs in the distance that bark way too much to warrant their continued existence, but none immediately close by. Definitely got in the habit of wearing earplugs in Guatemala, anyway. The nicest place we stayed at in Guatemala (always searching for the cheapest decently-rated private rooms with bathroom). This place should be WAY more popular.

CanadaWater in the shower could be hotter, but then that is an issue for most hotels in Central America. Also, the pressure was just too low to get a good shower.
The location was great, and the staff were nice. Close to all the major attractions but still far from the noisy area for one to get some peace and quiet in the evening. I liked the fact that the rooms had flat screen tvs.
