The Hotel is a little hard to find, with an unassuming street sign and Google Maps is notoriously unhelpful with one way streets... not really a fault for the Hotel, but travelers should be aware. The parqueo (parking lot) is a block down the street and requires the staff to unlock for you. You need to stop at the hotel to get them to open it for you.

The location is an easy walk to the Parque Central of Cobán. Interior of the hotel is very nice, built in a colonial Spanish villa style with an interior, well cared for, garden. Rooms are somewhat small, but nicely appointed. Hotel has it's own secure parking (a great plus anywhere in Guatemala, and particularly in Cobán)

As with many places in Guatemala, hot water and pressure is wanting. There was just enough to get clean and we don't know what the solution could be. In Southeast Asia there are mini hot water heaters that do a better job than the ones that connect to the shower. Perhaps something to research.

This is a great place to stay if you find yourself in Coban. Just steps away from the main plaza but totally peaceful. The rooms surround a lovely garden where the noise of the city disappears. The staff were charming and helpful. We didn't have breakfast but the coffee was excellent.

If there was any way to have a designated parking attendant, that would be preferable, especially when the only server during breakfast had to run off to open the parking lot.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The check-in process was easy and the rooms were basic but comfortable. The common areas were beautiful and we enjoyed our breakfast as well. They were able to provide fans for some white noise. Very quite location and free parking was close.

I found that the room was a bit dark (not as well lit -with natural light- as I had expected). There is no restaurant and only breakfast is served.

I liked the central garden in a colonial style house, beautiful plants and many birds. Although centrally located the hotel is quiet. The auxilliary personnel (Erwin and Edgar) were friendly, attentive and very helpful. Clanliness and order were appreciated.

There's no explanation on how to use the electric shower head. It took me a while to understand and get s hot shower...

Don’t believe the ratings. Hard beds. Broken lamp. Ants in my bed. Flaky lock. Dark room. Badly in need of an update or at least a handy person.

First of all Coban is a dismal place and we regret booking 3 nights. The courtyard is nice and the staff seem to be nice. It’s clean. Breakfast decent.

Our room was dated, dingy, and had a smell. I thought it was coming from the bathroom, but even with the door closed the room did not smell fresh. The bathroom didn't have warm water and the drain in the shower didn't flow both of which made for an unpleasant showering experience. The room was dark with fluorescent lighting. The bathroom felt unclean. I've stayed in tons of hotels like this in my day (and much, much worse) but that ship has sailed and now with the means to choose better I prefer cleanliness, care, and the comfort that comes with it.

The gentleman working there seemed to be there the entire length of our stay... he carried our bags from the parking garage, helped us to our room, brought us water, sprayed for bugs, and then served us coffee in the morning! He worked very hard to take good care of us. The gardens were lovely and I liked that there was a sunny spot to sit outside of our room to enjoy the morning. The room we had was very quiet and a good size.
