Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI mean, it's Guatemala, so everything is relative. Don't go expecting it'll be like the JW Marriott and you'll have a great experience.
Friendly staff, fantastic breakfast, easy transportation to La Aurora. If you have a morning or evening flight out of Guatemala City, this is a fantastic option for the night before or after. I've stayed here 3 times and will do so again whenever I come to Guatemala.

JamaicaVilla Toscana is a lovely place to stay. I needed to be near the airport during my trip and this was the perfect spot. It is in a secure, gated community in Guatemala City with a very attentive and helpful staff. The garden area downstairs is perfect for reading a book, relaxing or for taking breakfast. By the way, the breakfast included is fantastic.

The reception is terrific. Everything is thought out to assist you to get to the airport. We left at 5.30 and were given breakfast to take with us and the taxi was early. Also you can have food delivered for dinner. The garden courtyard is a haven. Well done!

SpainIt was good, really.
The hotel is right next to the airport, in a secure neighbourhood and offers free transfer service to and from the airport. The hotel facilities are ok, with a lovely patio that can be used to relax or eat something. The breakfast was also perfect and while there is no possibility to have lunch or dinner, they offer the possibility to have food delivered if needed.

BrazilThe hostel has a lovely and pleasant backyard; it could have a sofa, beanbag, or comfortable armchair there for those who want to relax outdoors or do some reading. The hotel is located within a gated community near the airport, which is quite far from the city and restaurants. So if you want to order an Uber, for example, you'll have to explain to the driver that they need to enter the community and pass through the gate, or you can walk to the gate to meet them outside. A downside is that there are no nearby restaurants, so you're solely dependent on the hotel, which has limited hours and options for food service. For instance, I wanted to have coffee at 9 pm, but it wasn't possible because the hotel doesn't have a kitchen that guests can use or restaurant service. Another point, not exactly negative, is that the hotel is very close to a military base, so it can be a bit noisy during the day, and sometimes even at night, due to officer marches, but it's nothing unbearable either. Other than that, the hotel is charming, very clean and organized, and the staff is very helpful and polite.
The location is great, just a 10-minute walk from La Autora International Airport. I was able to walk to the airport, even with luggage. The hotel also provides a transfer service to take you to the airport, and the journey is less than 5 minutes by car, which is very positive because traffic in Guatemala City can be intense and chaotic. The establishment is quite clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff very attentive. It has a beautiful backyard where you can have a coffee or do some reading.

CanadaWe didn’t realize that we would have to find the entrance gate and be permitted entrance by the security guard for the ‘complex’. The area is gated and houses several hotels/hostels and houses. Not a problem, but might be a good idea to include that information (as well as what information to provide the guards at the gate) in the event you arrive via Uber/taxi etc.
It was close to the airport and we could arrange for shuttles at different times to accommodate each traveller. There are fees for airport shuttles when they fall outside certain times, but that is completely reasonable.
