The Kasa Kiwi is very good located. The roof terrace is nice and the rooms are big. There are no bunk beds, so no one has to climb the ladder, what I loved. Wifi is really good. We went on several hikes (Laguna Chikabal and Volcano Santa Maria). There is great information provided, also about where to start walking and how to get around by chicken bus! Thank you Tom for helping us planning our trips! All the staff was very friendly. The kitchen is well equipped. There are lockers next to reception. There was a fun karaoke night at the roof terrace.

The kitchen is very small for the size of the property, not a huge issue but there was a bit of wait for the hob.

Really lovely hostel in the centre of Xela. The owners were so helpful and welcoming; they took the time to explain all the tours and offer advice on the best things to do. A social vibe with plenty of other travellers to chat to and the roof terrace was a good place to chill in the day!

Really noisy city and the windows cant hold back the sounds from outside. I could barely sleep while i stayed, even with Oropax. And maybe small lamps for every bed would be nice, or maybe curtains im the dorms? The available lights in the room were bright as the sun

The hostel is close to most attractions within the centre of Xela and you can reach everything by foot. Clean and nicely equipped kitchen, big and comfy beds, hot showers (if you know how to turn them 😉). Rooftop terrace is pretty cool and you can order nice food at reasonable prices. All in all an awesome hostel for such a great price!

Nothing to complain about really, other than the bathroom door. It does not close properly unless you slam it, which can be quite loud at night.

The private deluxe room is spacious and comfortable. There were tables on both sides of the bed, one which had a lamp, which was handy. Not a lot of hostals in Guatemala have bedside lockers, so it was nice to have somewhere to leave my water in the nighttime and then turn off the lamp without having to get out of bed! There is not always someone at reception, but the owner Tom is very responsive and responded to our what's app messages immediately. Location is good. 3 min walk to parque Central.

There is no inside common area to hang out and there are only 2 showers and 2 toilets but somehow I never had to wait a long time to use either :)

You can easily meet people here (most people are here for hiking) and the rooftop bar is amazing. The kitchen is nice and has everything needed. The owner is very helpful and provides you with all the info needed. I loved it here :)

Tom, the owner, is a great and honest guy who gives you a lot of information and tips. He don't want to sell you tours - he even encourages you to do hikes on your own and supports to connect with others who want to do the same hike. The Deluxe room has all you need and is very spacious. The kitchen is in good condition and clean. Furthermore we liked that the nice rooftop bar is also open to locals so you can connect easily with them - much more interesting as just staying in the "traveller's bubble" like in some other hostels. Thanks for the great time!

They could maybe use another bathroom and provide cover from the rain - when it poured down, you got soaked when trying to use the toilet.

Amazing value for money and the owner, Tom was really nice to hang out with. I loved how spacious the dorms felt and the kitchen and rooftop bar were very well set up. They help you loads with your plans too and even have a clear website with all the info.
