I don’t normally have an issue with spiders but there were many many large ones around the room and it was uncomfortable to move around at night. Would have appreciated a fan in the room or a mosquito net to keep away the bugs. The room needs some sort of curtain to keep the sun out in early mornings. While gorgeous to get the light in it doesn’t make for a relaxing stay. Also the room does not have a lake view only property view

Lovely personell in the restaurant, but seemed very understaffed. Everything took very long - had to wait for a coffee for nearly 30 min. And another 10 minutes for my breakfast.

Had a very pleasant stay. Nice greeting in the reception, clean room, nice staff and loved all the greenery in the surroundings.

Beautiful property! Nature all around, nice balcony and right by the nature reserve. Also great to support a place owned by locals rather than the influx of foreign takeover in San MarcosZ Food was outstanding, staff were so kind and room was beautiful.

The bed in cascada was too firm for me and the room didn’t get any breeze so was stuffy and hot. Disappointed in the rooms. No view from the room and as others have said noise an issue.

The restaurant is very good, staff friendly, and grounds are beautiful. Nice view from the kitchen area and nice to have a private deck and kitchen.

Overall it is a great place, it is a pity that unless you book a room with lake view there is no place: point from where you can see the lake, but overall it’s not a big issue as it is 2 minutes walking from the lake beach.

The place is very beautiful, immerse in lush greenery. I booked the cheapest room but was still super nice and comfortable. Breakfast is good.

This has nothing to do with the hotel, they hosted an event and San Marcos tends to bring in pretentious people pretending to be hippies/attempting to heal...during our dinner, we witnessed those coming to the event being rude to the waitresses because there was a language and cultural barrier. A reminder to those visiting, a lot of countries do not serve food quickly so plan accordingly and if you don't speak the language, you have tools to use on your phone that can assist with translation but still be kind and patient. As well, there are a lot of street dogs in the area so definitely bring something to block out the noise at night!

The location is beautiful, the food is delicious, and we felt so relaxed staying at Lush. The gardens and rooms are heavenly and the staff were very kind. If you are looking to be surrounded by gorgeous gardens and incredible vegetarian foods, this is the place for you.

I’d noticed in reviews that noise is a concern. My husband wasn’t feeling well & remained in the room & a baby was crying for hours , really a day ( not much the hotel can do about that)& at nite dogs barking & roosters crowing which when one is feeling good wouldn’t have bothered us but this visit, not feeling well, it was an issue. Janet was so understanding & accommodating when we needed to leave early. This is a beautiful rustic in nature space filled with beautiful energy. Just know who you are to discern if it’s for you.

this is a beautiful hotel incorporated into the LUSH natural landscape around beautiful lake Atitlan. The design of the hotel & all the natural & artistic elements & garden spaces are thoughtful & beautiful. I’d read reviews about bugs & saw none. Our room & bathroom were very clean & very comfortable. The staff were very lovely and VERY HELPFUL in every way & at the desk Rosaia( sp?) spoke perfect English & coordinated our travel situation & all our concerns beautifully. Janet the owner is very present & a lil bit magical which is reflected in her beautiful space Staff, Alfredo was there to greet us at the dock & help with our luggage both coming & going. While we are not vegan the food was creative and tasty( missed coffee & milk tho) I wish we might’ve been there for some of the interesting event hosted by the hotel

Absolutely the only thing, but a big thing that I didn’t like is that the center of the hotel’s garden is an event space with large permanent speakers and a music event was held there on a Friday night during my stay. Tune up started at 4:30pm, the music started at 5:00 and then it went on and on until 10:15 at night. It was loud, but from 8:00 to the end it was very, very loud trance music with a pounding drum beat. I closed all the doors and window shutters to my room, took out my hearing aids, put in ear plugs and was still bothered so much by the loudness that I feared I was damaging my remaining hearing - the young folks sitting down in the garden next to those speakers were most assuredly exposed to too loud noise. If the event had been less loud and confined to a couple of hours, that would be ok but to have crushingly loud percussive music for 5 hours when I am paying so much for my room seemed unethical.

This is an aesthetically lovely hotel, rooms include beautiful glass artwork windows and it’s all set within a gorgeous garden. Beds were very comfortable. The on site restaurant offered good, mostly vegetarian meals. Staff was very helpful.

The menu was unnecessarily healthy although I did enjoy my avocado toast with egg. There was kale with everything.

The hotel boasts a spectacular view of the volcanoes and Lake Atitlan. The room was meticulously maintained and had all the necessary amenities. The food served was both delicious and nutritious. The staff were friendly, hospitable and accommodating.

Staff starts working around the hotel at 6 am sweeping, watering plants. Windows are not soundproof.

The wi-fi is horrible. I couldn't get a single bar in my room. There is no direct path to the hotel, I had luggage that I had to drag to the hotel after my cab couldn't get there. I would have stayed elsewhere if I had known that I would have to drag my bags in the middle of the night through narrow alleys to the hotel. They don't inform you where everything is on the property, I had no idea there were communal rooms. There should be a map of the property and they really need to invest in wi-fi extenders. They should also tell guests that there is no road leading directly to the property and should help coordinate someone from the property to come assist with bags. For the price paid, this should be better coordinated and better communication.

The facility is very cool, it being built into the rocks.

Because we were right in a jungle, the spiders were very present, and we did not see any reviews prior to our trip about the fact that that the window panes overlap each other and aren’t sealed like normal windows. This is typical for the area, but this meant we didn’t have a way to close out the sounds from the outside world and we were looking for peace and quiet on our honeymoon (there are packs of stray dogs that bark all night). This also meant the large flat spiders come and go freely, and the dog noise and nearby restaurant noise make it not tranquil at night.

Lush is tranquil during the day and we loved how it felt like we were right in the jungle. The location and views from our room were incredible, and the food at Lush was fantastic.
