How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Breakfast horrible. somewhat prison environment. Tasteless and not hygienic. Even I did not enjoy the coffee with milk. The milk is so thick and having a bad smell.

Some of the facilities are dated compared to other hotel chains, but this hotel is clean
All of the staff have been very friendly and helpful. They have taken great care to look after my family. We had to extend our trip for a few nights as my young child has fallen ill and he had to recover before we could fly home. All staff members have been caring, understanding and helpful, especially the ladies of the housekeeping team. Thank you again for helping to support a young family looking after a sick young child.

The pillows smell odd like cigarette smoke.
The property is just 2 mins walk to the Causeway Bay train station and Time square. The location of the hotel is very convenient.

- The rooms' electrical outlet should be changed to universal outlet. Right now the rooms only have UK type electrical outlet which is incovenient for guests who don't carry electrical adapter. - The breakfast was disappointing. I thought it's going to be standard buffet like any other Holiday Inn Express that I have stayed before like in Singapore or Macau. It turns out you can only choose from 4 choices of breakfast set. And the taste is so so. Weird decision for the hotel , I hope they will change it soon to buffet. - The Toilet seat should include a bidet spray. As a lot of guests are accustomed to clean with bidet spray, not only toilet paper.
Check in and check out process was easy and fast. Staffs are helpful and friendly.

Waiting area for taxi and uber downstairs is too narrow and can be too crowded during peak check out hours.

We are a family of 3. So, we had a room with 2 single beds and a sofa bed. The two single beds were good and comfortable. However, the sofa bed was old. The base was uneven. We complained about the sofa bed. Then, we were transferred to another room but the condition of the sofa bed was still the same. If the hotel can refurbish the sofa bed or provide a roll-away, it would be good.
The location is good. It is right behind Time Square. The breakfast was ok. The room is spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful.

V limited breakfast menu - only 4 options - 2 Chinese & 2 European, so it becomes a bit repetitive after a few days. Although there is a gym, there are no floor mats, so floor work is not possible/hygienic.

The included breakfast is Chinese only. Therefore, there is no western style breakfast and there is also no option to not book the room without it.
The room that was assigned to me initially had a horrible and very large stain on the carpet. I asked to change my room and they did it immediately, this time a very nice room, but with a problem with a lamp, which was also solved very quickly. I am very happy with the service then.

The location is very strategic as it is near Time Square and the Train Station. It is my first time staying in this area and I found it interesting as there are local wet markets in near the property. The breakfast was okay wasn't expecting much but it was hearty enough to fill the tummy. The room was larger than expected and larger compared to my other previous hotel experiences in Hong Kong. The room is equipped with all the basic needs and it has USB Plugs which made it easy to charge devices. I loved the combination of pillows that it provided.

Breakfast is terrible. We stayed for 6 nights and the last 2 days we didn’t even bother to go, we went to the cafe downstairs that is cheap and good quality.
Location was perfect. We loved that is close to the MTR and all the shopping centres in the Causeway Bay Area. Room was big for Hong Kong standards. Staff were friendly. They came to clean every day.

It’s a good place to stay. Right in the heart of Hong Kong island Breakfast is the worst ever. Don’t understand the collaboration between the hotel and this restaurant. Coffee, tea both taste it was made the day before. Only 4 menu selections, all 4 plates are poor in quality and taste
