Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThe shared kitchen does not provide spoons and knives, and the bathroom is too small.
The staff were very helpful. The washing machine is in the room. The shared kitchen is a good selling point.

South AfricaYou need to offer individual capsules for the washing machine; I would have done washing but didn’t want to waste money buying an entire box of washing detergent. Coffee/tea choices were poor. There were only two cans of water in my room.
Close to tram stop, MTR and shops, exceptionally clean and had almost everything I needed. I was surprised to find a washing machine in one of the cupboards. Helpful staff who let me leave my luggage for a later pickup once I had checked out.

United StatesThe bedding is uncomfortable. Very hard bed. House keeping is not thorough.
I love the in-room laundry. I travel light and tend to do laundry during my trips. Not needing to go up and down to do laundry in the hotel is amazing! The hotel is about 6-7 minutes from the train station.

SingaporeThere could be more option for quick drinks, such as coffee stall which only came 2 times per week. Some potential to exploit here.
There was no breakfast but many breakfast options around the hotel. I really liked the quiet washer/dryer machine in the room, that made our longer stay really enjoyable and comfortable. Common lounge is also nice to spend time in before after coming back from errands. Lounge is well insulated from street noises just below and comes with peaceful background music.

PolandThe room was small, but we understand that it is the cost of a premium location in Hong Kong. The only downside was the lack of a wardrobe to store our suitcases, which could be an inconvenience during longer stays.
Our stay at this hotel was fantastic! The location in a great neighborhood just steps away from the metro station, makes it the perfect spot for exploring the city. We loved having 7-Eleven stores nearby for quick snacks and essentials, and the proximity to the tram stop made getting around even easier. The street market during the day was a delightful attraction in itself, adding a unique charm to our stay. The hotel provides all the necessary amenities, making us feel right at home. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. We will return on our next visit!

Singapore1) City view just means you look out into an old residential building opposite. Well, this is HK. 2) Bedrooms are a tight fit but this is again, expected in HK. Great to have the decently-sized living areas. 3) Hotel does not supply handwashing liquid / soap at all. There is only shampoo and shower gel fixed in the shower cubicle. If you need more hand soap, you got to pay for it. Apparently, this is due to the recently implemented no-plastic law. I am all for protecting the environment and support the ban of single use plastics. But I would think hand soap is a basic necessity that should be provided by the hotel. (Have we forgotten about covid?) There are 3 basins in the room. How can guests be expected to walk to the shower cubicle everytime they need to wash their hands? Especially if the guests are elderly? I urge management to consider fixing big bottles of hand soap next to each basin. So that the hotel can still provide handwash without using single use plastics.
1) Clean, new rooms. 2) Individual thermostats for the air conditioning for each bedroom and living area. 3) Gym was a little small and closes at 11pm, but it allowed us to burn off some calories. 4) Nice common area where guests can sit and wait, with drinking water dispenser.
