How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There was no air conditioning but there was small fan, and fridge was to share other rooms.
We did like the view, second floor was good 👍🏼.

The room we stayed in didn't have air conditioning and it got really hot during the day. We had to keep the windows open + use the fan at night to somewhat cool down the room, but since the outside temperature at night was still hot, it didn't help much. Had I noticed that there was no AC I would've booked a room at another place.
The location is great, it's very close to the castle! We had a room with sea view + the castle was also visible. There is free parking inside the property which is a big plus

The room was OK but the walls were not able to separate us from the neighbor family which was quite noisy.
Our host was very knowledgeable not only about the city but the whole island - we got a ton of good advices, and still have a number of them to try. The room was clean and big. There was an access to shared fridge on the corridor. If you travel by car there is no problem to leave it at the private parking.

There was no air conditioning and it is very loud with open window-busy street.
The Location is very convenient.( 5 min walk to the beach or to the center). The Parking area is safe.

There was a busy street nearby and the noise inevitably reached the room.
Well located, comfortable room with a wonderful view. Old town and beaches very close. The house has a large and cozy courtyard.

No AC. But the temperature inside our room in the begining of July was at the evening still ok.
Nice room with a great view at the sea. Quite place and enough space for parking. The owner is very friendly.

No air-conditioning, and a tiny little bathroom. It was uncomfortable to sleep on the bed, and hard to shower aswell as use the bathroom.

I had a great experience with this highly professional and greatly informed and warm host. The apartment was very nice with a great view of Krk Cathedral and the Adriatic sea, which I enjoyed. The object is placed at an excellent strategic location so that you can easily reach the beach going in one way, the city center going in another one, with a store and a nice restaurant nearby. I fully recommend this accommodation and this host and I hope I will have an opportunity to come back here again.

Wonderful location, with amazing views of the sea and the city. Both the old town and the beach are only 5 mins walking distance away. The room was comfortable and clean. The hosts were very friendly and helpful during my whole stay.

Great location, everything close by. Rooms are clean and are have everything you need, there is a shared fridge in the hallway which is very good. Super friendly and helpful staff. Unforgettable time !

Value for money was bad. 144€ for two nights and the rooms were just standard. No Tv, no dishes. The room was also not really clean, we had a cockroach in our bathroom.
Very friendly stuff, showed us a lot from the island. 5 min walk from the Beach, 5-10 min to the City, nice located

The property is pretty old, 'penzion' style. Smelly hall. Shared fridge and a shared kettle as well as some cups. Definitely not worth the price. Only booked it because this was the only property available. I cannot recommend it at all. Check in was not smooth as the lady did not speak english, and did take our documents instead of just taking a picture of them (standard practice around here).
Free parking included near the property. Decent distance to Krk center, like 10 min walk.

We went there in august and the temperature in the room during the night was extremely hot even with the fan and the windows open. We couldn’t sleep.

No airco, we were happy that we had a fan so that it could cool off a bit. Definitely need ear plugs and eye mask otherwise you won’t be able to sleep.
Location was great, close to the beach and center.
