Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe host was really kind and had a lot of tips for us about the city, transit, and stores. The vegetable garden was gorgeous and the host gave us some delicious tomatoes. The accommodation itself was really comfortable and clean! The beach was close by and the city center was easily reachable by bus. I would really recommend staying here.

PolandThe hosts were wonderful - they treated us to tomatoes from their own garden! Stjepo pointed out where to shop cheaply, where to eat well, how to get around town and what to visit in the area. Highly recommended!

Czech RepublicThe owners greeted us at the property and explained us the best way on staying on budget in Dubrovnik - which bus to take and from where to avoid the crowds, where to get the coffee, which supermarket to shop at, and basically told the story of Dubrovnik gentrification. The room was super clean and equipped with everything needed for a pleasant stay - from wine opener to microwave. It’s the best stay if you want to experience real Dubrovnik and meet kind hearted local people. Thank you!

New ZealandLovely friendly host! So many good tips about what to see and not to see. He even brought us some fresh figs from his father’s garden. Easy and cheap to get to town by local bus. Having a kitchen was great! The outdoor seating in the garden was perfect.

AustriaIt would have been nice to have body soap and shampoo in the washroom. Regarding the locality, the nearby restaurants are not cheap, and the food is not so great. I would recommend having food in the old town.
This was a nice place for a few days. Although a bit away from the city center, there is a good bus service (bus no. 6 running every ten minutes and takes ~20 mins to reach the Pile gate). There is a supermarket (Tommy supermarket) and a number of restaurants one bus stop away (5 mins by foot). The host was super-nice in telling us the essential things about the locality and how to explore Dubrovnik wisely. Also, they provided us with a wine-oper when we knocked them at night.

Netherlands1.Gas stove was not heating at all, the whole setup was based on green energy. I booked the stay for a staycation and we wanted to prepare food as well but the gas stove was hopeless . 2. I found the beds were having dust and the room was pretty small to accomodate two people for 3 days with the luggage and kitchen stuff 3. It is mentioned there is free private parking and reservation is needed but post check-in we drove our car and when we came back we had to struggle to find the spot for parking post contacting booking.com and the host responded and mentioned that once we park our car and if we take it afterwards it is not guaranteed that we will get parking again. I felt this is not the real meaning of free private parking. 4. I would not recommend this place if you are going for more than 2 days as I personally did not find this place comfortable. It was budget friendly but also comes with it's own cons.
The host was helpful

ItalyBad odour in the bathroom, we couldn't understand why. Parking issues, not advisable for those travelling by car. Few privacy because there is no private entrance.
You can walk to the city centre, even though you have to go up on a hill when you go back to the b&b, so it might be a bit tiring if it is very hot in summer or you have many things to carry with you.

NetherlandsUnfortunately there were only bed covers and a blanket or something would've been nice. Even though the weather was hot enough to do without one.
Great location near the beach and bus stop to the old town (centre). The host(s) were very friendly, giving us recommendations when we arrived. It was great we could store our luggage there upon arrival (too early for check-in) and that we could use some towels to bring to the beach. Some kitchen appliances are present.
