Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Czech RepublicThe original phone number, associated with booking reservation and owner had connection issues. The other side picked up, but could not hear us and vice versa. We had to go through communications, only to find out in confirmation email, that another and different phone number needs to be called for arrival/key handover. SMS messages worked on both numbers and both ladies answered immediately. The issue was caused by us, as travelers, as we should have read the emails more carefully.
Very pleasant, lady was already waiting for us at premises (we called 30 minutes ahead as requested within confirmation of reservation). The apartment was nicely furnished, it's located 5 minutes walk from downtown, with many coffee shops. It was a great place to crash for the night, on our way to Dalmatia. Beds were extremely comfy for younger half of our family - kids loved the softness. Parádny apartmán k využitiu na ceste k moru. Nič nechýbalo, postele super - pokiaľ sú preferencie na mäkšie spanie. Vybavenie kuchyne tiež ok, TV s množstvom medzinárodných kanálov.

Very lovely and quite place. Apartment was clean and modern, everything what you need was there. We liked 'sky' shower!! Beds were comfortable, we slept very well 😃 Parking in front of the house.

PolandThe apartment offers a very high standard and is cozy & well equipped. The location is great (very close to the city center and the Zrinski Castle). There is a parking spot available right outside. The check-in procedure is quick and easy and the hosts were very nice.

CroatiaThe bed is too soft and uncomfortable to sleep on - both my son and I had problems sleeping. I thought the mattress may be old, but checked and it was relatively new. Then the issue is quality, or the owner's preference for very soft mattresses. The owner's grandmother (I think), who lives upstairs, decided to sweep the relatively clean path 2 meters in front of our front window Saturday morning. Kind of made us feel creepy, like we were being watched. The path was perfectly fine, and if it needs cleaning, it should be done after guests leave. There are no screens on the windows, so the apartment was inundated with mosquitoes and flying ants. We found our snack box full of flying ants next morning. There was no insect repellent available in the house. I think the plug in ones would help. We stayed i Čakovec another two nights (my son was playing in a tennis tournament), but moved to another apartment.
The location is central and convenient.
