Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyIf you can't take stairs or moderately sloped streets, it might be better to pick something right in the Old Town or very close to one of the gates.
- Peter is a great host, He did everything He could to help. - The apartment is at walking distance from the Old Town. - The apartment has all the basic amenities needed, especially air conditioning. - The garden is very nice.

SwedenThe apartment is only 5 minutes walk from old town. The apartment was really clean and good condition. We loved the terrace and garden at the entrance. It felt like if we were in the countryside and not in a city. Very good atmosphere. I would really recommend this apartment to anyone.

GermanyIt was right next to another apartment and it seems that the isolation between the two is minimal, as the walls are probably not made of concrete material. Fortunately the person(s) occupying it were very quiet, so I have no real evidence that the noise from the side apartment could be easily heard.
The little apartment is very close to the old city, so very conveniently located. There are many stairs uphill to arrive there, but that applies almost everywhere in Dubrovnik, I think. It is very clean and, for such a small apartment, it is sufficiently equipped. It has a nice garden and place outside and there is absolutely no noise from the streets.

United KingdomGreat location , nice & quiet but very close to the old town. Apartment has lovely terraced garden & views of the old town & sea. Easy walk down to the old town either by steps or along the road. Host Peter was really welcoming & helped us with finding the supermarket, bus stops etc plus we were able to leave our luggage after checkout to walk round the city walls. Thank you!

IrelandThe shower door didn't close right so I was worried about getting water everywhere.
The host Peter was so friendly and easy to contact. He gave us a tip on how to avoid the steep steps with our cases. Explained where the supermarket was and how we could get back to the airport. The apartment is located only a few minutes walk to the old town but located in a quiet area. Beautiful views of the sea with a fabulous garden on site. The apartment is well equipped if you want to cook, has air conditioning in the living room only but there is a standing fan in the bedroom.

United KingdomThe location was brilliant, very close to the old town. Our host went above and beyond to help us when we arrived. They also allowed us to leave our bags after check out so we could explore a bit prior to departing to our next destination. We recommend staying here and would stay again if in Dubrovnik.

United StatesYou had to climb a lot of stairs to get to the property unless you took the road behind the back of the fort to get there.
The apartment was lovely with wooden beams in the ceiling and whitewashed walls on the inside. Windows looking out over the sea. The apartment was fully stocked with two burner stove, microwave, coffee pot, and refrigerator. We had a separate living room, bedroom and bathroom. The host was very friendly. We arrived a little early and they kept our luggage for us until check in.. once we came back our bags were already installed in the unit. They offered us coffee even though we woke the family up by mistake. Their son also was very engaging and bought us some free homemade grappa to try along with a bunch of grapes growing on their vine.

United KingdomNot much! Kettle didn't have a base so couldn't get it to work - but this was fine for us as we were only there 1 night. Facilities fairly basic but again more than adequate for 1 night or if you're on a budget.
Location was amazing so close to the Old Town. Excellent hosts with great communication prior to our visit and who were really welcoming and helpful during our stay - allowing us to leave our bags when we checked out, and use the washing line for our swimming costumes and towels. There's a lovely garden too. The room was pretty good, very clean and a decent size, and with air conditioning. Great value being so close to the old town.

CyprusThere are approximately 200 steps on the short 2min way to the city center but there is also another way with almost no steps that takes about 5mins.
The host is very kind and helpful. Nice garden area. Clean and with bathroom and kitchen utensils. 2-5mins walk from city center. Very good option if you want to stay out of the city center to save some money. Quiet and safe area.

United KingdomNothing, excellent apartment.
Incredibly close to the Old Town, while still being (just) outside the city walls. Supermarket (Studenac) up on the main Rd, turn left, about 100 ft, plus a Bakery. Apartment has an extensive garden area with multiple seating areas and a clothesline. Views were fantastic. Hosts were very attentive and speak English. Good sized bed room, and separate kitchen/lounge area. Bathroom well appointed. Air-conditioning works well, and partment also has free WiFi.
