Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ThailandNo bath gel and shampoo. No dryer (there is washing machine). No paper towels for kitchen and dining table.
Location walk to Dubrovnik Old Town (Pile Gate). Enough space for up to 4 people with full kitchen. Very kind owner and husband, they helped us carrying luggage and find taxi to airport.

United KingdomThere were a few things that were supposed to be included in the booking that were not provided. There were no toiletries. There was supposed to be a toaster but instead an old toasted sandwich maker that was in bad condition. The kitchen wasn't very well equipped and only had two old pots for cooking and no pans, the hobs for cooking didn't give off much heat. I messaged the apartment on my first day about these problems but received no reply. Also there was no TV which didn't bother me but might not be good for some people. I checked on my booking and these things were definitely meant to be provided.
The location and the terrace were excellent. We stayed in the smaller apartment which was a bit dated. The shower had hot water, there were plenty of towels, and the bed was comfy enough. The fridge was old but kept everything nice and cold. The smaller apartment is different to the photos displayed, but it's worth booking anyway for the location and terrace. The terrace had an amazing view and there were two sun loungers, two chairs and a table. Also there is a very friendly cat that visits every day.

United KingdomThe apartment has some stairs which didn't bother us but for the less able it is good to know.
The location was perfect, just a short walk to the old town. The apartment was clean with everything you could need and we really enjoyed spending time in the evening sat on the terrace with a lovely view. The host was fantastic and communicated really well with us.

Very clean modern apartment close to the old town. Both the bed and sofa bed were very comfortable, good shower and nice kitchen. Lovely patio to sit outside on too. Great value for money due to location

CanadaI can't really think of anything. It was lovely.
Incredible location and the view from the huge terrace is just to die for! You can see part of the Walls and the sea. Needing some quiet time, I spent an afternoon just bathing in the sun and and enjoying the view. The hosts are lovely and very responsive. The apartment is on the smaller side but perfect for my needs as I don't spend much time inside. The terrace was bigger than the studio! I was able to do laundry and make some food, as the apartment is well-equipped. It is very clean despite being a little less modern than some other places I stayed. I actually loved the decor, there was something really comforting and welcoming about it. Also, the hosts left a small bouquet of flowers and herbs that left a lovely smell in the studio. The bed and linens were super comfortable. The shower pressure was great. The location is perfect as you are a short walk into the Old town and the walls and also close to the ferry along the main road. It was incredibly quiet in the evening and at night, far enough from the hustle and bustle of all the tourists in Dubrovnik. Just a perfect place to stay and I would readily stay here again.

AustraliaThe communication (with a central agency I think) was difficult. We didn’t have a local phone but were only given the option to call on arrival. After many messages they agreed to meet us but it wasn’t obvious what to do on arrival. Also be aware that you cannot drive to the property (streets are walking only) and parking is expensive - we hadn’t realised this from the description.
Very central location, lots of cats, spacious rooms and well-equipped kitchen. Nice terrace to sit on.

United StatesNo close by parking, but I don't count that against this place--you're right near an historic city center.
Great apartment, just a 5-min walk to the Old City gate. Nice terrace with table, chairs and umbrella, and sea views. Parking near there is very difficult or expensive, but you can find free parking about a 15-minute walk from the apartment, which is what I did.

United KingdomThis apartment is located just behind the Hilton imperial. From the airport it’s around a 7 minute walk from the bus stop you are dropped at. Steps up to it but there is no other way as a taxi would drop you at the same area. The owner who met us was welcoming although I was a little confused on arrival as booking.com has photographed more than one apartment and they both look as though you are booking the same one. To be clear. Their is a studio apartment with a terrace and a one bed larger apartment all with photos together but they are not the same apartment. The studio is older in decor but clean and liveable, the bed needs some TLC, the mattress is not the best and I would say it’s noisy if you move around during the night. AC and washing machine both great. Terrace is the winner here, huge and private with a view of the fortress and sea, the apartment is amazing value for that alone. For anyone looking to eat in, download Glovo and get the delivered to outside the Hilton-great app. To reach the apartment, from the main road, turn right into the Hilton forecourt and keep left up the steps, past a school, at next opportunity turn right then next left-up the stairs. The apartment is the first you see on the right with a big blue metal door. It’s hard to find so I would advise asking for the owners number. Lastly, there is a little black cat. He is only a year or so old. He hangs around outside the street of the apartment, we befriended him and he is super loving. Please take care of him while you are there, he is a sweetheart and will come and sit on the step of the apartment with you. I nicknamed him Blaze, keep him well fed 🙂 Have a great time-5 minute walk to old town, do yourself a favour though and don’t eat in the old town, it’s overpriced
