I don't know if they lock the front door or not, I made sure to be back before 10 pm, but every time I tried it would open without a key. I wasn't given a key. Staff weren't really around, I think I got lucky that somebody was cleaning when I arrived.

The kitchen was tiny. There was no living room. The bathroom wasn't in perfect condition. If you want to work or have some me time, its impossible. There is not really any place to eat either.

The guy that runs the hostel is exceptionally nice. The price is good for Croatia and if you are someone who spends all day out and only come to hostel at night its perfect for you.

Not a surprise having read reviews, but yes, the dorm room is in the basement. I arrived after 11pm and the room was dark. I left at 9am then came back for my bags at 11am, and never saw it properly lit as someone was always sleeping. No social spaces or even anywhere to sit if you don't want to sit not on your bed in the dark - if you want to meet people when you travel, this is not the hostel for you. The kitchen is very small and it's unclear what is available for use (fridge, laundry machine etc have 'staff use only' labels on them) Los of personal items left around in the dorm and bathroom - maybe some guests were long-termers? But it felt like waking into the home of someone who likes clutter. The bathroom door does not have a lock on it. Thes owner/mamager was present when I arrived and could obviously see me outside via the security camera, logging in to the wifi etc to be able to gain access to the hostel, but didn't open the door or anything, he was just sat in there waiting for me to open it and although he was probably checking Its got the hang of it it just felt awkward. He offered me an 'upgrade' to the private double room and when I didn't want it (partly due to negative reviews of it, mostly to avoid moving beds of I chose to stay an extra night) he was a bit weird about it but maybe he just didn't understand. When I came back to get my things and move to a different (better) hostel, he was there and was clearly annoyed and/or hurt about it as he was really off with me as I left. It made me more confident about my decision to go elsewhere.

Mattress was comfortable. Bedding & towel provided were clean Power socket near each bunk. Lockers provided (with keys) and they work. Late check-in possible as lock is operated through an app, & check-in is automated. Mamager (owner?) very responsive via WhatsApp prior to arrival.

This property just wasn’t for me. The staff that I encountered seemed to care very little for their guests. I accidentally forgot to book 2 night, coming home to find bag outside the room whiteout so much as a message. The host didn’t care to help or assist and honestly preferred to just let a woman be alone of the street in a foreign country than make any think of effort to help me find somewhere to stay. Not ever offering refuge in the hostel until I had found something else

The kitchen always smelt bad and facilities didn’t feel clean. The mattress was uncomfortable and led to back pain.

I didn't like the fact that the dormitory was in the basement. No windows. Nevertheless it was spacious and the atmosphere was nice. It was located a bit away from the city center. Also the automatic doorlock was kind of tricky, either to enter or to exit. In general it was good value for money.

Fairly clean and comfortable, friendly staff. It seemed recently renovated, the atmosphere was fresh.

Overall the hostel was not very clean. There is no sound seperation between the room and the upstairs. If you are trying to sleep and someone upstairs is socialising (which is fine) you will need ear plugs to block to noise. This was a last minute book for me I chose it based on the location and the price (that was a mistake). I think this is an ok place as a last minute find and if you want to stay for a night. If you are staying for any longer period of time do yourself a favour and look at other options. I have travelled lots and stayed in many different accommodations and this is one of the most displeasing experiences.

Fairly close to the city centre, you can easily walk to the hostel from the old city. The check in host was nice.

The linens were not nice. The blanket cover was torn out. The height of the room was too low. The bed was totally uncomfortable and noisy. The drawers were not clean and were l already full with stuff. There was no working desk.

there was no shower in the double room and the bed wasn’t very comfortable. Also, the bed sheets and covers felt old and dirty. We were told we had the room until 12pm, but the cleaning staff kept knocking on our door many times from 11am.

this is a self service hostel so it is pretty in personal. You have to download an app to open and close the door and this was a bit annoying and takes away a bit of the hostel magic. There is only 1 shower and toilet for the 2 floors and they are in the same space. Thankfully I only had to wait a short period of time, once in the 3 days I was there. The location is a bit distant from the main ferry port and old town. I felt a little scarred walking home by myself in the dark as I am travelling alone BUT it is close to the beach area which is also nice.

a shower in the private room would be great. the bed was too squeaky to sleep on - we had to put the mattress on the floor! also our key code expired too soon and we were lucky people could let us in as there is no staff around really.

The street gets really dark at night, with no light. We got there at almost 2 a.m. and went to the room we were told was reserved to us. When we got there it was already occupied. We then found out there was another room and when we asked the hostel, we were told they had changed the rooms and fogotten to tell us... Not a great expience, we woke up the other guests in the middle of the night because of the confusion (as we were previously told that was our room). It is a little far from the city center.

shower room was a nightmare, a cockroach dropped on my hand when i opened the door.

we had private toilet so we would't use the shared toilet at ground floor. I could tell staffs and owner tries their best to maintain inside of hostle looks better, but outside of building is quite dirty.

Basement room is really quiet and dark. Good for anyone who wishes to have better sleep. The housekeeper is awesome and friendly. Very close to the grocery store
