Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyLocation is very good: especially to the small beach (150m) but also close to the city and the entrance to the wall.

AustriaLovely small room (we had the room in the top part of the house with three beds and one bathroom) that is perfect if you’re a group and in Dubrovnik for a weekend or so. Bathroom was wonderful and clean! Room is pretty much full with the three beds and the wardrobe but again if you are only there for 2-3 nights and don’t plan on spending much time in the room it is more than enough. It is very close to the old town and also close to some nice beaches. It is up the hill a bit so you need to walk some steps up but that is the case in basically all of Dubrovnik. Dino and his mum were lovely host, very responsive and helpful. Apartment did not have a kitchen but small fridge and kettle were available- again more than enough if you’re only there for a couple of nights!

Very nice location, very close to the old town, great and helpful host Dino. We loved the stay the apartment was renovated, nice and cozy place. You have to be prepared to climb steps with suitcases as is most of Dubrovnik's old city.

AustraliaHot water ran out too quickly in the shower. Front door might need replacing- being a solo traveller I was a little worried about security as there was a gap in the door. I put a chair and some other things up against it for my own sanity.
Apartments Mia was very lovely in many ways. It is perfectly located in old town Dubrovnik and the apartment itself has recently been refurbished so is modern and has all the bits you would need to have a nice night in, a relaxing sleep in but you are oh so close to everything that you may as well be out! Dino was so helpful when I arrived early for check in and remained easily contactable throughout my stay.

AustraliaNo wifi the whole time. Was originally difficult to find properly - but staff were responsive if you called so that helped us. The aircon in our room didn’t work the first night so it was quite hot but the staff got it fixed the second day we were there.
Staff were really friendly and helpful, location was good and room was comfortable

FinlandWi-Fi was down due to some technical problems. Humidity was high in the small room with the natural rock wall.
The location was amazing next to the old town by a small fishing port and next to a small beach. We had the downstairs room with a natural rock wall, which was cool enough in summer not to use the AC at all. The host Dino is a wonderful character! He gave us LOTS of advice on what to do during our stay, made us feel like friends, stored our bags for the day after check-out and even filled our water bottles with refrigerated water upon our departure. Hvala!

United StatesNot much... it was really great. The spiral staircase is a bit tight... but nothing to complain about.
Apartment Mia and Dino (and Dino's mom) were lovely. The location was amazing! Right outside of the Old City Walls.. Close to two very good bar/restaurants with fantastic views. Dino was so accommodating and also gave of the lay of the land when we arrived with great recommendations. I would highly recommend staying at Apartments Mia!

United KingdomWe did have an exchange with our host Dino, who was wonderful in every other way. It was regarding check-out time. On the listing when we booked it stated 0:00-0:00, we essentially checked in at 2336 and paid for the whole day which was not an issue at all as we rather reserve the room. However, out of the blue, we were asked to vacate on our final day at 10am. We did get in touch with Booking.com and Dino was understanding enough to let us stay till our transfer in the end which was a good outcome. I would perhaps suggest to discuss check out time at check-in to avoid misunderstandings and unpleasantaries. Overall our stay was wonderful and the location of the apartment is amazing.
The location was bar none. We were 100m from Lapad beach and about 400ft from the gates to Old Town. We travelled with a buggy (Stokke Xplory, which is 15kg) and all of Dubrovnik has mega stairs, but this was a wonderful compromise, as we had one flight to the apartment and perfectly accessible with luggage and buggy from main road. Our kitchen literally looked onto Hilton Grand Hotel. We had no need for aircon even at 26C, we were high enough that a wonderful cross sea breeze went through the apartment. No travel cot available, so we brought our own which was not an issue as plenty of room in the bedroom.

FinlandAlthough the location is overall super quiet and soundproofed well, one could hear other guests arriving during the night if they were loud outside in the stairways. Sometimes water pressure in the shower was weak but that is something that could be expected in an building of this age.
This accommodation has a fantastic location. Just outside the Old Town, close to an ambient bay with a nice small beach and a few nice atmospheric restaurants/bars. Facilities were clean and exactly as in the pictures. The host and his family were very welcoming. A/C & Wi-Fi worked well. I would say this accommodation is very true to it’s reviews.

SwitzerlandFor a four person apartment, two chairs (stools) are not sufficient. The host did not seem to know that the full tourist tax is due only for adults above 18 (50% for teens 12-18 and no tax for children under 12) and insisted initially to cash 100% also for the children. After verification, he however accepted. So make sure you are not asked to pay full tax for children.
Dubrovnik is indeed worth a visit and the geographic situation of the apartment is a real plus. The apartment is simple, but correct and clean. The host was kind,.
