How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Everything was a delight!
I don't think I've ever encountered such genuinely kind, warm and delightful staff as the lovely women running this hotel. Everything was perfect, super comfortable room, the most amazing breakfast, and incredible location in such a beautiful town.

Breakfast buffet was both beautiful and tasty. Staff was exceptionally nice and friendly. Location great and the passes for ferry to the island was such a bonus. Parking shuttles were fast and and timely.

Everything was very clean, the location is amazing, right in front of the marina! The breakfast was one of the greatest that we’ve had, rich and delicious! And special compliments to Anna Mariya who was at the reception! She was the greatest! She was so kind and smily, she welcomed us and explained everything in details! Big thanks and I absolutely recommend this hotel!

Like everything in Istria it is overpriced. The room was comfortable and of a decent size. The only issue was that the shower was quite tempermental.
Great location and super staff. Nice facility and good breakfast.

Unfortunately, the room was located on the 3rd floor with a view behind the archs. We only see a narrow portion of the landscape.
The breakfast was really good, with a large selection of dishes, nicely presented. The staff was very kind. The location of the hotel was perfect.

possibly the parking. although it was free, it was a little bit of a hassle with luggage.

Rooms could be better maintaned. There was a broken ceiling lamp in the bathroom, bathroom ceiling was poorly painted, moisture marks in the corners of the shower/bathtub and hot water problem (long wait period). Those are things that should be better in 4* hotels, but didn't ruin overall experience.
By far the best breakfast I tried in the city of Poreč. Staff is very friendly and proffessional. Rooms are clean and WiFi is really good. Their friendly and always smiling staff represent the very best idea of how small/family hotel should operate.

Pricey for such a small room, but it's a touristic location, and you're in the middle of it.
As other people tend to say about Hotel Mauro, the staff are truly great here. Location is right where you'd want it to be: near the harbor, Basilica, restaurants, etc. And a 10 minute walk to swimming (though you can also take their van to a different, more secluded spot).

Well maintained boutique hotel at central location right on the boulevard of Poreč. Yet in a relatively quiet spot, so no excessive noice. Comfortable room with direct sea view. More than generous breakfast buffet, with all fresh ingredients. Served on the spacious, shaded terras directly next to the boulevard (quiet in the morning). Soft beach towels provided daily. Most outstanding -and above all- is the helpful and genuinly friendly staff, without exception!
