How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Great location, close enough to easily walk to everything. Steve was extremely helpful with advise where to go & what to see. We arrived just as a soccer game had finished & Steve had great communication as to where to park etc

The blow dryer didn't work.
It was very clean and modern. The host was incredibly responsive and the check-in/check-out process was super easy. I was also able to leave my suitcases at the front desk for a few hours after I checked out, which was very helpful. I would 100% stay here again and I definitely recommend Calma Luxury Rooms.

Couldn’t complain about anything
Very easy checkin, modern room with a lovely balcony and a spacious bathroom, wardrobe to hang out clothes in and even a mini fridge. Aircon worked well. Very close to central split, I’d say about 5 minute walk and you’re in the centre, but also very close to shops and buses from the airport

Steven was incredibly helpful getting my car parked and giving me an overview of the city by map. The location was perfect, easy access into restaurants and old city. Secure space, comfortable room and bed. Shower clean, hot water, AC. Definitely recommend!

The check in process was great, the staff was waiting for us in the apartment, gave us some imporant tips and even he got us some umbrellas as it was rain forecast. The bedroom was very comfortable and well conserved, the balcony was ideal to have some coffe during the morning. They conctac you before the arriving and give you tips to parking, which, in this case, were super well used.

its on 2nd floor. no lift (Though Host helped carrying the bags). no reception to wait till host arrives, you stand in the street. once again host was very responsive, reached as soon as i notified him about my arrival.
Room is very clean, comfortable for upto 2 people. Facilities were there. 2 min walking distance to old town, Halal food places, Bakery

Nothing! Be warned there are stairs if that may be an issue for you.
The location was perfect! It's just far enough from the crowds, but 5 minutes to EVERYTHING! This is the best location to experience Split.

The host is very helpful and friendly. We have arrived earlier and he let us check in earlier. He introduced the main sightseeing in the city and is reachable always via phone call 24 hours. The bathroom is spacious and the whole room is renovated very new and clean. Good location.

Great modern rooms, spacious and very friendly staff. Location is an very easy 5 minute stroll to the old city, close enough to regularly return to the room to drop off stuff or chill for a while. Great service!

Not a huge deal but water pressure was a little low. Majoring in the minors though as enjoyed our stay

VERY small fridge, no microwave.
Location was perfect for visiting Split's main attractions. Comfortable but smallish room, no microwave a slight limitation, but bakery right down the corner a fantastic source for food/drinks. Will pay 12E daily for parking, but great set up for trip to islands. Steve was a huge help.

Very cool room, spacious with everything you would need. The building is super nice, the balcony was nice to cool down. It's 3 minutes away from the palace and near everything. The staff was also helpful with telling us about the restaurants or where to get the best view for the sunset.
