How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Nearby church - bells start at 06.00... Bed-room on first floor difficult to reach via tiny stairs and broken hand-rail. The apartment looks renovated - but would need some improvement - TV not working, A/C too old and loud, needs some paint.
Very efficient communication with owners - we booked last minute and got access to the aparment 20 minutes after booking. Big apartment in the city center, fully furnished. Good value for money!

The appartement is very central, comfortable and has a nice interior. The stairs are interesting and different. We stayed 2 nights.

We were in transit The reservation was very simple, as well as the communication with the host. I received all the information via email with all entry codes. The apartment is right in the city center and was very easy to find. There is parking near the location

The only real issue I had is that at 6 the church bell would sound for 2 minutes waking me up early every day. It's not anyone's fault but it has to be considered. Admittingly it wasn't loud but enough to wake you up if you have a light sleep as I do. The blinders right above the bed sufficiently cover the sunlight but in summertime could be waking you up. The parking place would need to be discussed in advance too as it would be free parking however i got a fine. The owner very kindly paid it so.. there is no issue. A discussion beforehand might be necessary to avoid surprises.
The apartment is very big and very very comfortable. It has pretty much everything you need and more. The price and the position very into the centre is great so it's overall an amazing deal

Extremely hot upstairs, its under the roof and when its summer/sunny its not possible to sleep there. We had to sleep downstairs.
Fully equipped apartmen, big space, modern.

We arrived at 11:00pm due to traffic jam. It looked nobody was awaiting our arrival. No parking ticket prepared even if it should be ready on the table as per instructions. No towels ready. Fridge and air-condition switched off even if it was quite hot night. There was kind of smell inside and dry air for which I was coughing more than usual. We left at 1am as we couldn’t sleep probably due to the dry air causing coughing. The apartment owner was calling me due to missing parking ticket at 11:20 when we were at home 600km further.

There weren't enough sheets. A little ugly and depreciated.
The apartment is on the main pedestrian street. Quiet and peaceful place. Great location.

Air condition/heater on the second floor (bedroom) wasn’t working (only cold air) so there was quite cold. Fortunately there were warm quilts.

The apartment is quite spacious and comfortable. It is situated in the centre of the town. The parking space is very near. The communication with the owner was excellent.

The apartment is old (and you can say that looking at the furniture, fridge and doors, everything else looks fine). It's easy to trip on the stairs (for us, let alone for our dog). There weren't a kettle, a microwave or a good frying pan (the food would stick to it). The apartment is above the nightclub, which is closed, so no noise. However, there was clamour from the church nearby. It actually is the only downside of living in the city centre. They ring the church bell at midnight and at 6, which was frustrating, mostly because we didn't expect it. Later during the day they do that every 15 minutes, but that isn't annoying at all (and adds to the charm of the city).
The apartment is located right in the city centre. It's clean and has a lot of space. The owner was extremely helpful and nice. Apart from what I've pointed out in the downsides (which are not huge), everything else was great!

Excellent location, the apartman is well designed, super bathroom. Clean and have all what is necesarry. Flexible arriving and leaving time is a super idea, due to coded doors.
