Nice room, very friendly and welcoming staff

The staff was great. Nicole at the reception was very friendly, served us a welcome drink and showed us around the hotel. Breakfast was a highlight, with a great variety of breads, cheese, fruits, salads and even sparkling wine. Stefanos was really welcoming, he showed us the food, he took our orders and things came back from the kitchen super fast. The room was clean.

The day we arrived we had to climb three floors of stairs with our luggage, which was strenuous. After that we found that there was an elevator from the inside parking lot, but there was no sign about it and was behind a door and a corridor, a simple sign would be so helpful

Nothing to do with the hotel, the weather could have been better

Staff were exceptional, Borno, Stefanos and Zoran were very friendy but very professional. Exceptional service from them. Food was amazing and the bed and pillows were very comfortable

Shower-door didn't close fully and shower head could have been better maintained

Nice room with very comfortable bed. Great breakfast selection and beautiful view. Booked only a few hours before arrival and could only choose a room overlooking the rear of the hotel (2 residential apartment buildings, hotel pool).

It's a little bit more outdated than the pictures imply, but everything was clean and comfortable so not an issue for us at all.

The staff is truly amazing, everyone is so friendly and helpful! The spa is really nice, and the beds are very comfortable. Breakfast buffet is the best we've had in Croatia! Free parking with spaces that can accommodate larger cars in the parking garage, really nice.

Nothing to fault.

From when we first arrived the service we received from Nicole was exceptional and from then on all staff were very friendly and helpful, even helping us with suggestions for places to visit on our journey. The hotel was clean and well presented with extremely good facilities. The little extra touches made our stay unforgettable. We would recommend this place to stay and hope to get back ourselves one day.

I actually really liked everything about this place.

The location and views from the hotel were great. The pool was nice and private. Food was brilliant, breakfast was great with lots of choice and evening meals were very good, restaurant quality. It was the staff, though that make this place special, everyone was just really nice, helpful and very caring/attentive.

If you Google map the hotel, it is a reasonable 15 min walk to the excellent restaurants on the seafront, BUT, it's an incredibly steep incline. We got a taxi (EUR18 return). No iron allowed in room (health & safety)

Lovely good-sized room with a sea-view private balcony. Very comfortable superking bed. Good shower. Good aircon. Lovely pool. On-site restaurant served excellent food and wine. All hotel staff inc. Restaurant servers were very friendly and helpful. Free on-site parking.

Amazing hotel, outstanding breakfast with a view over the sea. Very polite and you get everything you want. Very comfortable beds and great rooms. The pool is very great and refreshing. You can walk to the town centre but be aware that the way back is a little bit steep - but no problem

Rooms with a sea view need a couple of refurbishments and detailing in form of cleaning. Urgent replacement of carpet is needed!

Laurus was our first stop on our journey through Croatia, and it was surprisingly amazing. It somehow created a 4 star experience which, sadly, couldn't be matched by the next 4 star hotels we visited onwards. From the moment we stepped inside, all the staff tried to help us in any way possible and in a friendly way possible. The room was spacious and comfy, offering also a stunning view to the sea. To be quite frankly, we've seen 5 star rooms looking inferior to this one. Then, the restaurant is a real gem. It offers a really luxury menu, but for decent prices. And the staff is also helpful, very polite and.. quick. Since it was quite cold outside, they brought us blankets even without asking. Thumbs up, guys! Breakfast was also rich in options. Compared with the other 4 star hotels which we visited in Croatia during the following days, i would say that Laurus is more like a 5 star. And yes, we would definetly include Laurus in our next trip to Croatia.

A bit far and uphill from Opatija. Need car to come back to the hotel
