It‘s really time for proper renovation/restauration. The rooms are not in a good shape and a bit overpriced.

There were quite a few bits, which could've been better. The cleanliness was definitely a bit off, while the room wasn't the cleanest, and the daily cleaning was if happened, was max 5 minutes. Parking spaces are non-existent, while for a 4 floor building, there's a max of 10 parking spaces, and we had to park in the city 5 minutes walk away, which isn't the end of the world, but there could be some sort of solution for this. My sister and mom's room, which was a seaview room, was a lot smaller and it didn't have a balcony, only a really small place where you could literally just stand alone. When we have asked about this, the receptionist didn't really give us a good answer, while he said there are only a handful of rooms, which have a bigger balcony. Well, that just isn't true.

This isn't the first time we were in Hotel Kvarner, but this has been a bit off, compared to other times. The good part was definitely the breakfast (apart from an amazing smorgasbord, you could order your breakfast how you liked, and special mention to our server from the Philippines, who was absolutely amazing) and the location, it is literally in the middle of Opatija. The room was okay, the bed excellent. There are a lot of positives of this hotel, but while they said they are in the middle of a refurbishment, it will do a world of good for the hotel.

Strange decor in hotel due to issues with conservation meant that cracks in plastering were marked/catalogued not repaired. Spa was being refurbished so we went to different hotel in same group to use sauna/hot-tub. (Liburnia group seems to own all the big hotels in Opatija). Parking was 25eu/day. Overall a bit too pricey .

Room spacious with sea-view and balcony. Breakfast choice was amazing and lovely setting for bkfst outside on terrace. Staff were very professional. Nice terrace next to sea with loungers and steps into bathing area.

Too many pigeons in the terrace are a terrible nuisace, probably hard to keep away, but should do something about it. The staff at service in the restaurant was resolving their internal issues in croatian language with guests nearby.

The sea water in front of the hotel is deep, not suitable for those who don’t swim, but there is places very close to the hotel where you can take a bath in sea water.

Absolut fabulous! The staff very friendly and helpfull, starting with Tanja from the reception, Cresily and Arnel at the breakfast and Victor on the terrace. Location is perfect, right near the sea and in Opatjia center, the breakfast is amazing, with all you want to eat/drink, even champagne, all is very clean, perfect in a word.

Like many large hotels built in the nineteenth century it could do with a bit of restoration here end there.

Great seafront location with a terrace to swim from. Nice spacious gardens to relax in. Good breakfasts, nice staff. Room large, clean and comfortable.

That all sea facing rooms had a shower over bath which can be difficult for older persons. However, the manager allowed my wife to use a garden facing room with a walk-in shower each day..

Superb location in a wonderful building. The best buffet breakfast you have ever seen. Wonderful sundeck by Adriatic and nice pool nearby. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, the pool was closed the day we were there.

Our room was very nice size, with comfortable bed and a large balcony. The breakfast was very nice with many selections and also champagne was available for a mimosa.
