How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Had such an amazing time at Lukas Lodge. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and the guest area was a great place to meet new people. Only a short walk away from the main town :)

I was unwell when I reached this property, and they looked after me so much - helped me out constantly and were so kind and welcoming to me as a solo traveller… the location is fantastic, and the rooms are comfy! You must stay here if you’re staying in Hvar.

There was a doublebooking, so they put a mattress on the floor for one person. Since I needed to check out while people were sleeping, it was hard to pack etc. without any space in the room.
Great place and the owner Luka is super friendly. Clean and cozy rooms. Would stay again :)

Excellent staff, very welcoming and organised. Everything was kept clean and tidy. The owner, Luka, personally drove me to the near by hospital when I had health issues.

Clean and quiete
3 adults. Up a hill. Very hot in hvar. AC had trouble keeping up. Lots of mosquitoes for some reason Very good affordable option

Wifi was bad, one toilet for 4 room.. you need to wait all the time, cause It was always busy. The price is high for what they offer.

Nothing, I had a great time!
The staff was welcoming and friendly, giving me recommendations of where to go, how to get around in Hvar. The bed was comfortable, there was air conditioning in the rooms (much needed during summer), there was a good kitchen, the bathroom was clean. If I ever go back to Hvar I'll definitely stay at Luka's again. They are quite strict with quiet times which was very much appreciated. Also, just adding here that not all rooms have views but that was not an issue for myself at all. The common area does have a nice view of the sea and sunset.

Hot water is not included (or you need to keep the water running for at least 30 minutes in the sink too for some luke warm water) Internet is super slow. For the this price they can do better

The bed was a bit too soft and the shower unit wasn't practical-- water went everywhere including the floor which then became slippery.
The view is everything, worth the hike up there. With the balcony it is quite spacious. The host was very nice and their facility is well equipped.

bad bad wifi at the apartment, the one at the hostel was fine. missing garbage in the bathroom, especially when its girls… missing simple stuff in the bathroom like a rug not to slip, maybe add something to put/carry shampoo and soap etc. and give more than one towel when people are staying a few days in a row. bed not comfortable at all…

Absolutely super staff running this hostel! They make all the difference. Great for solo travellers as its easy to meet new people in the hostel. Awesome common area where interactions take place with the other guests. The rooms are per expectation of a hostel, sufficient. Location is excellent. First time I stayed in a hostel in many years and really enjoyed it. Also for someone a little older appreciate the strong commitment to keep noise levels down after 10pm.

The whole place has a nice atmosphere. There is a big common area for the guests with an outdoor kitchen, where you can cook and eat, talk with the other guests, read a book or just hang out. The staff was really kind and helpful. Definitely coming back here.

It was quite pricey for what facilities are provided however this is typical of Hvar during peak season, and it is still a cool place to stay.
The staff were the best aspect of our stay, Brigid was super helpful and friendly and gave heaps of suggestions for our trip. Our private room had a balcony with exceptional views of the islands! Staff can help book tours too which is helpful.

Luka’s lodge is such a nice hostel, the rooms are simple but they have everything you need. the best thing about te hostel are the people that work there, they will share their favorite places with you and are just te nicest people ever. Has such a great time, was really sad to leave

I really really enjoyed my stay at Luca’s!! Amazing atmosphere and big thanks to the girls for making my stay so enjoyable. I even wanted to extend for two night but they were full so I couldn’t.

Though room was in separate house with only two rooms, guys in room next door were very noisy around 2:30am which was really annoying. It was not accommodation thing, but it made our night that much worse. Also, toilet seat not attached to the actual toilet, it just fell of. The location is a bit further away than it seems on maps, and so many stairs.
Nice staff, simple and reasonably clean room, balcony, privacy of the room.
