Location is not the best.. like 15 min walking to the city centre and supermarkets. I was expecting the pool and bar would be working normally, but they were closed, so I was a bit disappointed.

Hygiene but that mostly had to do with the party people in the hostel.

For a party hostel totally great. Good staff and decent rooms. Great pool to chill and options to eat food and have drinks. Center of novalja is within short walking distance (5 min) and bus to zrce beach works well. Was here at a busy time of the year during Sonus festival and enjoyed it a lot.

The staff was super helpful, they left my important bag at the reception for 2 days because there was no big locker in the room. I appreciate it a lot. The pool is amazing and also the bar works good. I stayed there 2 nights, i couldn't find cheaper price in august at novalja. Thank you Moon Rocks, see you soon

Just I prefer to have separate dorms - like W and M, not mixed. So I slept next to a person of opposite sex, nearly touching each other.

Everything was fine. Generally it was clean. But there should be some clean up also under the beds.

1. The reception is not clearly signed so I was walking back and forth, trying to find it in the heat. 2. The kitchen is actually not connected to the main building so you have to go outside and then up the stairs on the outside to get there which was slightly inconvenient since my room was also on the 3rd floor. However these are totally acceptable for the cheap price!!

I came to check out Novalja mainly because this hostel was so cheap, and to be fair, it was clean and lots of space in the bathroom, I loved the kitchen/dining/hangout area on the 2nd floor, it has amazing views, especially eating dinner with sunset views was perfect. I am a solo traveller and I met a lot of friendly people in my dorm room and drinking in the evening.

Key didn't work. Smelly bathroom. Night shift told me I had to check out at 9 but the morning shift told me 10 was possible. Restaurant not part of the hostal and opens at 10 and pool bar coffee machine didn't work...

The place is mostly frequented of youngsters who make a lot of noisy and play music at high volume. The management shall set rules and do more control about it.

The staff is really polite and very helpful. I would say that the staff+the swimming pool makes the difference.

There are lots of drung guests which do not respect the silenced hours 22-06. In the night we experienced quite a lot of drunk people screaming and knocking on doors in the hallways. p I would recomend the Hostel to take action: Whenever there is a violation of the house rules, the safety deposit should be indrawn from the customers.

Had to go to a place in town to pay and then still go to reception when you got to the hostel to get your key? Would be quite an inconvenience if I didn’t have a rental car. The cleaners didn’t clean our ensuite bathroom in the days I was there. They had cupboards in the room but they weren’t lockable (there was a tiny safe you might fit passport in) and generally people didn’t lock doors as you needed to use your key on the inside, which then meant drunk people barging into room at all hours. Definitely a party hostel which means great for meeting people but not very strict on quiet times.

Had room with balcony which had a nice sunset view, bed reasonably comfortable. Good place for a couple of nights and if you are going to festivals in the area.

There was a lot wrong with this hostel but I think that the multiple festivals going on while I was there were to blame for some. Initially for check in they asked we go elsewhere pretty far into town before heading uphill to the hostel which I thought was unreasonable. The bathrooms were constantly dirty, or had lights that didn’t work, or toilets constantly flushing. In my room our AC unit was broken and when it finally got working it left a absolute POOL of water in our room but it was too hot to not have it (it stopped working our last 2 nights). The only staff that was helpful or kind while I was there was the ONE blonde girl, if you’ve been here you’ll know her. She was the only one who tried to help with anything. Don’t expect too much, it’s not close to the beach or the club area but is near a bus stop (the bus barely comes, just split an Uber) Also BIG groups of trips go to this hostel so heads up.

The property had a pool and bar just steps away from the hostel which was really nice on hot days. The area for cooking was nice (even though there weren’t many appliances) It’s a cost efficient option

I couldn't book my stay for a whole week, because on Tuesday the hostel was supposedly fully booked, so I booked my stay from Sunday-Tuesday and from Wednesday to Saturday. Because of this, I was meant to check out on Tuesday, but for some reason, I thought that I should check out on Wednesday and so I did. I go to do the check out and they tell me I was supposed to do it on Tuesday (now reminder, I could not book my stay for Tuesday night because apparently the hostel was fully booked, yet nobody came into my room, which means that it wasn't fully booked). No worries, I admit my mistake and pay for the extra day. Since I was still in my original room I tell them that I want to stay in the same room for the next days, since nobody came to take my p[lace and my bed was still available. This is when they tell me that I can't and that for the rest of my stay I will have to go to another room. When I asked them why, they told me that this is how it is in the system and that they cannot change it, so because of "their unchangeable system" I had to pack my things and move them to another room, just so that someone new can come and take my original room, instead of placing that person into the room that I just moved into and letting me stay in my original room. Terrible. Needless to say, the check in and check out part is done separately from the Hostel, across the road, so to argue about the situation I had to go back and forth between premises, discuss with several people....horrible. Then I get into my new room and it is extremely dirty and what do you know, the air conditioning doesn't work. Then I put a couple of things in the safe, I lock the safe just to realise that I have the wrong key and my things are locked. When At the reception, surprise surprise, they had all the keys, except the one from my safe. No extra key, no safe code, no nothing, simply my things were locked.

It was a bit isolated, but the location was not that bad. The swimming pool was nice, the people staying there were quite friendly, the restaurant was nice, food was good and not too expensive compared to other places.
