How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We got an attic room so had to climb 60 steps to reach the room but we expected stairs in Dubrovnik so was not a problem really and the host was there to carry our bags up for us on arrival.
The hosts were very friendly and informative. Room was clean. comfortable and a great price. Excellent location just off the main street of Old Town with very few stairs to climb to get to the front door.

There was some noise upstairs.
The host kept in good contact and gave excellent instructions. good location. All in all, a good overall and comfortable room, I can recommend it

A little more information in the room about places to eat, cheap local supermarkets located just outside the walls, and recommended tours etc... maybe a welcome pack like this would be helpful. Could put it all on a handy map. A long way up loads of steps to the top floor!
Lovely, spacious room with a fridge, and tea and coffee making facilities. Great powerful shower. Couldn't be more central in the Old Town. Great instructions from the owner who lives off site, but was there to meet on arrival. Air conditioning a great bonus.

The property was exactly as described and the location was fantastic. Upon arrival the owner Srdan called me to make sure I had arrived ok and was able to follow the instructions to gain access to the apartment building and our individual room. He explained about the room features including hot water supply , windows, noise, comfort. The shower was lovely, perfect flow of water and always hot. Beds really comfy, which is good as I am quite fussy when it comes to a mattress. Air con worked great on the couple of occasions we used it. Kettle and fridge in the room which was really useful. The windows are superb because as soon as you close them, it immediatley blocks out the noise from the streets below. The room was very clean, ample supply of towels and shower gels etc. I really could not fault this property and speaking as an ex travel agent I would not hesitate to recommend ! The location was very good, easily accesible to the main streets, plenty of restaurants and bars within meteres. Thank you Nina & Srdan!

Great location, very helpful host. Beds were comfortable, good AC, nice location easy to find. FYI 2 flights of stairs. Would stay again and recommend to others.

It was lively outside at night. Restaurants and a bar below the windows. If you love the feel of a city it's great. If you need quiet to sleep, bring ear plugs but don't let that stop you from staying here
Apartment was compact but had everything we needed. Great location, safe area, comfortable beds, clean with amenities and great water pressure in shower. Restaurants and shops right out the door.

There was no breakfast as such but the hosts Nina & Srdan provided plenty of 3 in 1 coffee and tea and very kindly left us some "pan au chocolat" type snacks to keep us going which were very nice!! The bedroom (and bathroom) were very clean and fresh, we both loved the nautical feel, it had ample space, comfortable, the shower(s) were excellent and we really liked having lots of space to put our things in the bathroom, plenty of storage space, excellent location with loads of superb restaurants and shops right on the doorstep. Great beach towels also provided which came in very handy with the superb sea swimming areas around beautiful Dubrovnik. Hosts were very friendly, efficient and attentive, keeping in touch with us every step of the way, providing very helpful information making sure we got to our rooms safely, very impressed - thank you Nina & Srdan!!!!

Location in old town...very close and walkable to cafes and bars. Host were very responsive.

Incredible location right in the middle of old town but very quiet. Best AC in Croatia. Great shower. Comfy beds. Such a pretty nautical theme throughout. And a very friendly helpful host. A must-stay property.
