How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

What we paid for a one night over stop stay was not worth it. Yes, it is in a good spot and maintained nicely we were asked for a tourist fee to be paid ontop of our original payment.
The kitchen and meet area was great! The beds were comfortable, and don't squeek when you move.

There's only 2 bathrooms (1 on each floor), which I guess is shared between about 20 people or so, so sometimes it can be occupied often, whether you need a shower or to go to the toilet or not since its combined...
The hostel is located right in the heart of the Old Town of Dubrovnik, so its easy to go and come back quickly every now and then; it's also surrounded by loads of restaurants. The owner Michael definitely made the stay here memorable: interacting with his guests and accommodating to their needs. He even offers a Cliff Jumping Tour, whether you're a beginner or an expert, it was great fun and I highly recommend this!

Amenities and furniture are quite dated since it’s an older building. There was one bathroom between two dorms on my floor. It got messy very quickly and was only cleaned once per day. Bathroom itself was cramped and had no ventilation, so the ceiling had some mould. The shower head was also broken. Since there was no curtain on the bunk beds, people were also using the bathroom to change clothes so made it even trickier.
Excellent location - right in the middle of Old Town, with option for (almost) step-free access through nearby gate. 4-bed female dorm was spacious and lockers were decent size to fit small suitcase or larger backpack. The room rates were also pretty fair in comparison to other hostels with similar rooms available.

There was only one bathroom on the floor for 2 rooms (4 beds each) which seemed insufficient. Also they weren't always clean and the was some leakage in the bathroom.
Right in the heart of the city! It was super convenient to get around Old Town from the city. The kitchen was small but super cozy so it was easy to meet other travellers. During the stay, a lot of people were using the single hob to cook, so they replaced it with a double hob, which was super nice! There was also free coffee, cereal, and pasta for everyone to use which was wonderful. They also facilitated a late check-in and the staff in general was very helpful.

Shower head holder was broken. (Everywhere has the same problem).
Location was on the main street, most places seemed to be at the top of many steps. Also, advised of supermarket and a cheap place to eat. Cheap for old town.

There is nothing really to dislike if you are seasoned traveller . Horses for courses but do not moan at € 40 a night for a private room in Dubrovnik old town .
Location is the beauty of this property . Directly off the main boulevard in the old town .

There could be shower gel or shampoo in the bathroom, towels are small (but complimentary). Not much privacy in bed (no curtains). No common space except for the small kitchen, but that's Dubrovnik.
Location is wonderful, right by the gate. Individual lockers, big rooms. Helpful staff.

However, the bedding had some stains on it, and the room doors could be at least a little soundproof..
Loved that there were some food and hot drinks on offer, location and the host were fantastic too.

There was some noise when trying to fall asleep and only one bathroom per floor was too little for all the guests there.
I loved how cosy the hostel was. The room I was in was spacious too and you were able to open some windows for some fresh air. The whole place was cleaned daily which was awesome. Loved the location as it was super easy to get to from your day out. Staff was super friendly and the other guests were very friendly too. Would definitely stay again!

No elevator. Room was a bit small and old, But overall well-maintainanced.
Less than 1 minute walk from the main street of Dubrovnik old town. Close to Pele gate of the city wall. The room cost was reasonable to the other nearby hotels, but provided clean private room. WIFI connection was no problem, and good reception staffs.

Since it is located in the city center there's a lot of noise during the night coming from outside, from restaurants, although the hostel is hidden in the narrow street. The bathroom is shared not only with roommates, but also with people from another room that is on the same floor.
The location is great, close to everything you need to see. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. The hostel is in charming, old house with beautiful interior. It was pretty clean and tidy.
