Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAs regards the hotel, it was faultless, but just be aware that to get to Dubrovnik old town there are over 400 steps. Whereas this wasn’t an issue for us (although tiring on a hot day!) it could be if you have any mobility issues.
What an amazing hotel. A perfect setting with picture-postcard views. All staff were lovely, professional and gave outstanding service. The room was furnished to a high standard-modern, but in-keeping with the surroundings and spotlessly clean. Complimentary toiletries were of a high standard and refilled when running low. Bed was comfy and bed linen clean, crisp and good quality cotton. Towels clean and fluffy and replaced every day. Breakfast was waitress served with a smile every morning and the food itself was good quality and cooked to perfection. There was an excellent menu to start the day and delicious coffee! The pool and loungers were perfect with clean folded towels every morning . Other facilities were great-games room, quiet reading areas, garden swing chairs-the whole property was immaculate and very well maintained. We honestly could not say one negative thing about the place and will most definitely recommend to anyone visiting Dubrovnik.

GermanyAmazing historic facilities with a modern touch. Everything brand new. Great! Staff was very helpful. They explicitly asked for things to improve since the hotel just opened - was hard to find any and very positive reactions to the few things we raised.

AustriaMagical from the moment you step in this monumental building, grand decor, amazing patio and very attentive service. We stayed in a deluxe double room with an amazing sea view. Each staff member was timely, eager to help and so friendly. They had great suggestons for where to go and what to do. We definitely recommend a visit to this hotel! I wish we could stay longer. We booked Palace Natali for our honeymoon and all I can say - what an amazing place to stay! Centrally located, lovely building with outdoor dining and romantic tables to relax. Perfect service, delicious food and gorgeous setting. We stayed in one of the suites with a sea view and we were welcomed with the bottle of wine in our room which was really sweet. We highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again. The hotel is stunningly beautiful, the location is perfect, the service and staff are one of the best we have ever experienced. We especially liked the garden view, gym, pool facilities and the location – only 10 minutes by walk from the city center, ideal for those who like to be close to the center but far away enough to have their own peace which you will definitely find here. Everything was wonderful and we’re already looking to return.

United KingdomOur room/suite was odd … I had expected a sitting area with our bedroom instead we had a mini kitchen which I didn’t like or want. No view either which was a shame as the area is stunning. Not keen on a shower over the bath … pity they didn’t use the kitchen area to make the bathroom/shower room more luxurious.
Loved the boutique styling. The breakfast were excellent and all the staff I spoke with were excellent …. A really good team

BangladeshLocation and room size. Also you have to take steep stairs to go to your room if it’s above level 2 because the lift only comes level 2. It’s ridiculous compared to the price of the per night stay

United StatesI liked everything about the property. However, there are no elevators so it’s something to consider if you are not able to climb stairs. I have to say, if you can’t climb stairs, Dubrovnik isn’t a place for you to visit, we averaged 18,000 steps/day the 5 days we were there.
It is beautiful and very relaxing with amazing views. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms and amenities are very luxurious. The staff is very welcoming and made sure we had everything we need. They even prepared to go breakfast for days we had early tours planned and wouldn’t make it to breakfast at the hotel. Our stay was absolutely amazing!
