Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThis is really a mini apartment rather than a hotel so there aren’t the same kind of facilities you might expect e.g. lounge area, breakfast room, bar etc.
The location is fantastic. The room was amazing. Very clean and very cool (very quiet and efficient air conditioning). Very comfortable bed. Considering the number of people walking by outside, there was little noise to be heard inside the room.

United KingdomOn the return home I found Zadar airport to be a bit disappointing. Once you are through security and duty free, there is only 1 place serving food, coffee etc and so the queue was very long as almost everyone had to wait in the Q to get anything. They did have some sweets and crisps in the duty free shop but if you wanted anything hot food or coffee etc, waiting in a very long Q was your only option. If I was going back, on my return journey, I would definitely want to eat something before going to Zadar airport or take a sandwich and juice! Also, I have to say Zadar town is very very family oriented. That is to say it is full of mainly Italian tourists, some French and Germans and a handful of Brits. So of course, pizza, pasta and gelato is the mainstay of the food outlets. If you want traditional Croatian you will probably have to work a bit harder to find it in a restaurant or cafe. On the upside - the coffee is good! Zadar Town is very touristy, so if you want to avoid other tourists and have an 'authentic' Croatian experience, then this is probably not the place for you. The solo traveller may not find many kindred spirits as Italian families seem to make up the vast majority of tourists here but on the upside, it is a very safe town for solos and if you like walking, culture, the sea with some tourism and the convenience of town life, then this will be perfect for you. Lastly, in Zadar town there are no sandy beaches. People (locals and tourists) go to sunbathe at the waterside which is shingle and concrete, but it is kept very clean and there is easy access into the water. Most people just jump in! If you want proper sandy beach you will need to travel further than the old town to find it.
The location was perfect - literally 2 mins round from where the bus drops you off from the airport and you are smack bang in the middle of the Old Town and can visit everything in the town on foot. You are 10 min walk from the Greeting to the Sun and the Sea Organ and 2 mins from a small supermarket and the Donut church and bellfry tower. This town is right on the sea so you are never far from the water and all the boats and yachts that surround the place. There are loads of sea excursions to do on the tourist day trips and tons of different restaurants, cafes and bars. There are also loads of different churches and museums to explore. Plus the evening entertainment at the Donut church and the market stalls are open late all along the seafront. Also, it is really easy to get from Zadar airport into the town by bus and costs a lot less than a taxi - but you have to pay in the local currency, kuna. The Zadar airport website gives you all the info about the bus timetable etc. My accommodation was amazing. The staff are not in the building all the time but they are accessible if you need them and when you get there you can get their phone numbers if you need to call them. They are also not intrusive and will only come into your room if you need anything, otherwise they will just leave you in peace. The building is well kept, clean and safe. This is not a hotel in the traditional sense as there is no food served or constant staff presence. But you literally step outside the door and already there is a cafe, restaurant and bakery 30 seconds away. Everything was spotless and I was very happy with my room and the standard of the accommodation.

You can’t beat the location. Especially if you are taking a catamaran to the islands. quick easy walk and you are there! central to everything in Zadar. The bakery across the street is amazing for breakfast and the best coffee in town is 20’ away at the cafe. Branka at the front desk was wonderful as usual and went out of her way to accommodate us when I made a mistake with my days we were supposed to be there! She was very quick to communicate with us and got everything fixed for us in no time at all. It is a boutique hotel and is definitely better suited to non-needy and experienced travelers that don’t need their hands held constantly. Perfect for us though!

What a fabulous location in the old town. In the midst of the heat, hustle and bustle a quiet welcoming, comfy sanctuary. We stayed in the room at the top with the terrace - lovely sitting out watching the world go by. Perfect for an overnight stop or for a few days
