Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaJust would have loved a bottle of water upon arrival but it’s such a small thing. Everything was perfect for me.
The location was exceptional. Really clean and safe. Walking distance to main gate of old town was 1 minute from front door. The staff are a 10! Special thanks to Petra for the warm welcome and help and advice. The property is small but perfect for what I needed. Bed and pillows comfortable. Small bakery at main gate and small convenience store. The cable car is two minutes up a flight of stairs and there is another bakery and the shuttle bus to airport for ten Euro from the dedicated shuttle office right next door. The location of this apartment was premium. Small fridge and kettle hot plate microwave available in the room, aircon worked well, hot water with pressure. I felt really safe here as a solo traveller and will book with this company again.

JapanThe power plugs were not located good. Needed to charge my phone and others in the kitchen. The clothes rack and mirrros were placed so high that I needed to use a chair to reach. +1 if there is a big mirror in a room as well.
In front of the old town, but not inside so you can avoid walking all the way down and up the paved stairs in the old town. Super easy access to the old town by walk. The room was clean and there was a kitchen. Everything necessary was provided.

United KingdomSome may consider the room small, but if it's only for sleeping then it's fine
A fantastic location literally outside the Old Town walls of Dubrovnik. The staff at the property were very friendly and welcoming and made you feel at home.

SwitzerlandMaybe for a longer stay a little bit small as you do not have enough space to store everything.
Perfect location in front of the city walls and near the besch! Possible to park the car a few streets away in a private parking garage (for a van a little bit narrow but ok). Everything was clean.

CroatiaPerfect location for exploring the old town, right outside the city walls. Bus station, taxi and parking spaces nearby. Upon arrival, we were greeted with genuine warmth and enthusiasm by the host. Everything you could possible need was in the apartment and it was extremely clean, as the attention to detail truly stood out, making us feel valued as guests. Great value to stay right in the heart of Dubrovnik. Would definitely recommend it.

United KingdomThe main reason I dropped a point is in regards of the furniture around the bed, even though it looks nice and it gives space for storage, the cupboards next to the bed are too close when you get up or go to bed and even thpught I was trying to be careful I end up hitting myself on the head with the corner, so my suggestion would be to move them to the wall next to the bed by the window or add any kind of protection to the corner. Apart from that, also mention that the Wifi was not great.
The main reason I pick this hotel it was the location, it's just perfect; outside the oldtown and the crowd but 2 steps away to walk in (you can actually see the walls). It's just 1 minute walking to one of the main doors, 2 minutes from the bus stop to go/arrive from the aerport, local supermarket and about 8 minutes walking to the main square. You also have some local places to eat for a decent price. The room, as many people has mentioned, is quite small but I was fully aware when I book it so it was not a surprise. We only stayed there for 2 nights so we didn't feel any stressed about it. It's quite cozy and has all the basics you need for a short stay. The kitchen came very handy as Restaurant prices in Dubrovnik are quite expensive, so we end up using it more than we thought, it has the basics to cook and have a dinner or breakfast (cutlery, glasses, mugs, one pan, one cacerole, etc...) also you have a microwave (which is working) and a minifridge. The bathroom is also quite small but the shower was very nice. As some people mentioned, our room was on the second floor and there is no lift, but is literally some steps, not a problem at all, just worth to mention if you have mobility issues. If I would need to recommend a place to stay for few nights in Dubrovnik to a friend, I would recommend it as the location couldn't be better.

Greece- we left an open box of biscuit at the kitchen counter, the very first day and a couple of hours later there were ants everywhere on the kitchen. From that moment they became our best "pest-pet-friends" for our entire stay 🙃 -leaking shower (when you open the door) both problems can be solved easily I think, because the room is really good!!!
+location is super convient +the room was clean +cosy, rustic decoration +interesting old renovated building +there is a small kitchen with basic cooking equipment +we had a back room, looking at an abandoned yard. Although we had no view, the room was quit, the sun wasn't heating the room all day long (as the front rooms) and there were clothes lines out of our window. +parking space 100 m away +easy check in

AustraliaThe Location was fantastic, directly outside the fabulous Dubrovnik Wall and the Old Town and a short walk to the cable car. It’s close to a small gate and so we were able to star our wall walk there, early, away from the crowds. The apartment was cool with good A/C and the bed comfy but quite hard (this seems quite common across Europe) the bathroom was older with loose tiles on the shower floor but the shower worked well. Having a fridge was GREAT as it was very hot while we were here. The host arranged a cab from the Ferry to the apartment and he was very good.

EcuadorThe only thing that didn't work well was the wifi :( It wasn't a problem when we were out and about, but once we we're back and had to do some work it became a problem. Hopefully they'll get it fixed, because the place is great.
The location is PERFECT! Right outside the old city walls, walking distance to everything! We got the room on the top floor, so it was amazing to have a view of the street. Even though the rooms are small, they're well equipped with everything you might need. The hosts are always available to help you out. Would definitely recommend this place to solo travelers, couples, or groups of friends!
